Correspondence 12/08/2003 passenger #33 Ostheimer
Thanks to you I have found Fredrick Ostheimer on the ship Louise Marie
out of Bremen, germany to Philadelphia, Pa. arrived on 24 May 1855.
Fredrick is my wife's great grandfather. His occupation was a tailor
as indicated in the ships manifest. You provided a link to the town in
Germany which we did not know, i.e. Wesel.
Fredrick was married to Fredricka Hennenberg in Germany and apparently
he came here first, as her name is not on this ship's passenger list.
They settled in Philadelphia and had 4 children. Olga, Edward, Emma,
and Edwin. The only offspring of the Ostheimer family came from Emma
ostheimer who married Frank Edwards in Philadelphia on 11 Nov 1896.
Frank Edwards was born in England. Emma and Frank had two children,
a daughter named Olga, later changed to Dorothy, and Frank, later
changed to Edwin. Olga was born in 1896 and Edwin was born in 1900.
No offspring from Dorothy, but Edwin Edwards moved to Brooklyn , N.Y
in the 1910 to 1920 time frame and had 3 daughters in his marriage to
Evelyn Geller. The eldest daughter is my wife Edith. John Ragusa
