Ship London
I, J. R. Hurlbut, Master of the Ship London, do solemnly, sincerely and truly [swear] that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection District of New York, is a full and perfect list of all the passengers taken on board of the said Ship London at London, from which port said Ship London has now arrived; and that on said list is truly designated the age, the sex, and the occupation of each of said passengers, the part of the vessel occupied by each during the passage, the country to which each belongs, and also the country of which it is intended by each to become an inhabitant; and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of said passengers who have died on said voyage, and the names and ages of those who died. Passenger Notes:
#56: Given name written without any indication that it is abbreviated, i.e.,
no period or superscripted letter/s following the "h". However, name
probably Catherine.
#50-51: Surname possibly Wachler; the line crossing the fifth letter is very
faint.
#65: There is a large "scrolly" letter following James so closely that it
could be a part of the first name or it could be a middle initial,
possibly an "R".
#88: Given name looks like Meue or Mene.
#91: Given name written without any indication that it is abbreviated, i.e.,
no period or superscripted letter/s following the "h". However, name
probably Catherine.
#95: "Squiggle" at end of surname could be an incomplete "r". Name possibly
Menger.
#122-126: Surname looks like Deituall or Dutuall. Neither could be verified
