Transcriber's Notes:
*Columns represent - the order of the columns on the original manifest were:
Name, Relationship (if any), Baggage, Age, Where from, Occupation, Baggage,
Destination, Male, Female, Children, Inft(Infant).
*Relationship - the word "his" was written in front of the words wife, son
and daughter to indicate the relationship of a person to the adult male of
the family.
*Sex - there were two columns for the sex, Male and Female; the original
manifest had a slash (/) in the appropriate column; the transcriber combined
these into one column and used male or female to indicate the sex of the
passenger; there was no sex indicated for children or infants on the original
manifest.
*Baggage - there were two columns for passengers 1 through 32; the word Baggage
was written on an angle above the columns; both columns listed 1 piece for
each person; this column was eliminated by the transcriber for these passengers
and passengers 33 through 227; there was no baggage indicated for cabin
passengers 228 and 229.
*Children - the original manifest had a column with a slash (/) mark to indicate if the person was a
child aged 9 years and under; this column was eliminated by the transcriber.
*Infant - the original manifest had a column with a slash (/) mark to indicate
if the person was an infant (a child under 1 year of age); this column was
eliminated by the transcriber.
*brought forward - this was written at the bottom of the Male, Female, Children
and Infant columns on the original manifest; it was apparently a running total
of all of these columns.
*carried over - this was written at the top of the Male, Female, Children and
Infant columns on the original manifest; it was a carry over of the total of
all of these columns from the previous page.
