DISTRICT OF BOSTON AND CHARLESTOWN - PORT OF BOSTON
I, J B Norton of the Bark John R Stanhope do solemnly, sincerely, and truly swear that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Port of Boston, is a full and perfect list of all the passengers taken on board the said vessel at Paramaribo D. D., from which port said vessel has now arrived; and that on said list truly designated the age, sex, calling, country of citizenship, native country, intended destination or location, number of pieces of baggage, location of compartment or space occupied, and date and cause of death of passengers, as required by the "Passenger Act of 1882"; also a true statement, so far as it can be ascertained, with reference to the intention of each alien passenger as to a protracted sojourn in this country. So Help me God. Signed J B Norton.

List or Manifest OF ALL THE PASSENGERS taken on board the Bark John R Stanhope whereof (name unlisted) is Master, from (port unlisted) burthen (tonnage unlisted) tons.
Columns represent: Names, Age, Sex, Calling, The country of which they are citizens, Native Country, Intended Destination or Location, No of pieces of baggage, Location of compartment or space occupied (Specify whether forward, amidships, or aft.), Date and cause of Death, Whether visiting or intending to be permanent settlers.

*  An asterisk indicates an error on the part of the original 
   recorder, not the transcriber, or is used to call your attention
   to additional information in the transcriber's notes.

*  Departure port is probably Paramaribo, Surinam S.A.

*  In the Left corner of the manifest it says Custom 
   Form Passenger List "Passenger Act, 1882.  In the 
   Right corner it says Sold by Aaron R. Gay & Co. 
   Stationers.  122 State St. Boston.

*  The death column was eliminated as there was nothing
   listed in it.

*  It is written under the passenger list: 
   Cabin 2 males 1 US Citizen 1 Immigrant Italy
   Immigrant not in the US before 1=50cent.
