I, Cook Master of the RMS Java do solemnly, sincerely, and truly swear that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection District of New York, is a full and perfect List of all the Passengers taken on board the said STM at Liverpool from which Port said STM has now arrived; and that on said list is truly designated the age, the sex, and the occupation of each of the said Passengers, the part of the vessel occupied by each during the passage, the country of to which each belongs and also the country of which it is intended by each to become an inhabitant; and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of the said passengers who have died on said voyage, and the names and ages of those who died. So help me God.

Transcriber's Notes:
* The use of an * indicates an omission or error made by the original
recorder.
? The use of a ? indicates a word or letters that could not be read, due to
the quality of the original document.
* The signature of the Customs Officer is unreadable.
* Died on the Voyage. That column was not used, therefore has been omitted
here to save space.
* Age Column is shown as Years Months, but for children under 1 year, the
recorder used a fraction. This transcriber changed the fraction by adding
the letters mos after the age for clarity.
* The recorder used various abbreviations for first names; ie Wm
(m underlined) for William, Thos (hos underlined) for Thomas,
Chas (no underline) for Charles, Do (o underlined for Donald, I believe),
Geo (no underline) for George, Hg (g underlined) is unknown. In addition,
many initials only, were used instead of first names.
* Many times the recorder used a check mark to indicate ditto for the last
name. This transcriber preferred to log the correct name instead of using
the check mark.
* The recorder used various abbreviations for Occupation; Gent for Gentleman,
Chd and Child for Child, Mercht for Merchant.
