I, George Bakere, master of Ship Globe, do solemnly, sincerely, and truly affirm that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me, and now delivered to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection District of New York, is a full and perfect list of all passengers taken on board of the said Ship Globe at Havre, from which port said Ship Globe has now arrived; and that on said list is truly designated the age, and the occupation of each of said passengers, the part of the vessel occupied by each during the passage, the country to which each belongs; and also the country of which it is intended by each to become an inhabitant; and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of said passengers who have died on said voyage, and the names and ages of those who died. Transcriber's Notes:
Most of the names above are written last name, followed by a comma.
The cabin passengers, listed at the end of manifest were written
first name followed by last name.
All the passengers were going to the United States of America, so
the column for the country to which they intend to inhabit
was eliminated.
No one died on the voyage so that column was eliminated.
There was one birth on the voyage, the manifest only stated that a
child was born to passenger # 9. No other information was recorded.
The manifest listed FARMER as the occupation for everyone, including
women and children. So that column was eliminated.
In the age column the original recorder wrote 3/4 for 9 months
and 1/4 for 3 months.
Sarreguemines (Moselle) is in France near Germany.
Nassau could be in Rhineland-Platenate Germany, Baden-Wurttenberg
Germany, Bavaria Germany or Steiermark, Austria.
The original recorder wrote Suisse for Switzerland, Wurtemberg and
Wurtenberg for Wurttemberg, Baviere or Bavaiera for Bavaria.
There are several places in Germany that are spelled like Wurttemberg.
Wartenberg (a region)in Berlin, Wartenberg in Bavaria, Winterberg in
