DISTRICT OF BOSTON AND CHARLESTON - PORT OF BOSTON
I, H W Robinson Master of the Bk Elgin do solemnly, sincerely, and truly swear that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Port of Boston, is a full and perfect list of all the passengers taken on board the said vessel at Barbados, from which port said vessel has now arrived; and that on said list truly designated the age, sex, calling, country of citizenship, native country, intended destination or location, number of pieced of baggage, location of compartment or space occupied, and date and cause of death of passengers, as required by the "Passenger Act of 1882"; also a true statement, so far as it can be ascertained, with reference to the intention of each alien passenger as to a protracted sojourn in this country. So Help me God.

List or Manifest OF ALL THE PASSENGERS taken on board the Bk Elgin whereof Robertson is Master, from Barbados burthen 549 tons.
Columns represent: Names, Age, Sex, Calling, The country of which they are citizens, Native Country, Intended Destination or Location, No of pieces of baggage, Location of compartment or space occupied (Specify whether forward, amidships, or aft.), Date and cause of Death, Whether visiting or intending to be permanent settlers.

Transcriber's notes:

*  An asterisk indicates an error on the part of the original 
   recorder, not the transcriber, or is used to call your attention
   to additional information in the transcriber's notes.

?  Indicates a letter or number which could not be determined due
   to the condition of the manifest or handwriting of the original
   recorder.

*  In the Left corner of the manifest it says Custom Form
   Passenger List "Passenger Act, 1882.  In the Right corner
   it says Sold by Aaron R. Gay & Co. Stationers.  
   122 State St. Boston.

Passenger #1 - In the Intended destination the first letter 
      does not go below the line.  The second letter goes above
      and below the line like maybe an "F".  the other letter 
      could very well be an "n", "m" or even "ue".
