DISTRICT OF NEW YORK - PORT OF NEW YORK
I, jAMES PETRIE Master of the Str Copernicus do solemnly, sincerely and truly swear that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection District of New York, is a full and perfect list of all passengers taken on board of the said Steamer at New York from which port said Str Copernecus has now arrived; and on said list is truly designated the age, the sex, and the occupation of each of said passengers, the part of the vessel occupied by each during the passage, the country to which each belongs, also the country of which it is intended by each to become an inhabitant; and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of said passengers who have died on said voyage, the names and ages of those who died. *  An asterisk (*) after the number indicates that more information is in these
   Notes.

*  A blank line (_)indicates that the original recorder failed to record it.

*  The original recorder didn't number the passengers, they were added for
   accuracy of these Notes.

*  The original recorder listed the number of packages in the age column and
   omitted the age. 

*  The original recorder grouped all Children, Servant/Nurse on the same line,
   but this  transcriber assigned one line to each for better clarification.

*  The spelling used was that of the original recorder, misspellings and all.
