LIST OR MANIFEST OF ALIEN IMMIGRANTS FOR THE COMMISSIONER OF IMMIGRATION.
Required by the regulations of the Secretary of the Treasury of the United States, under Act of Congress, approved March 3, 1893, to be delivered to the Commissioner of Immigration by the Commanding Officer of any vessel having such passengers on board upon arrival at a port in the United States.
S.S. Colon, sailing from Panama, July 10th, 1894 arriving at Port of San Francisco, Aug 1, 1894.

There is no captain's statement nor captain's name attached to this manifest.
The following columns had identical entries for all passengers and so were 
not included in the table:
 Able to Read & Write=yes (except 4&5) 
 Seaport for Landing in the US=San Francisco  
 Whether ever in Prison, Almshouse or supported by Charity=no (except 11)
 Whether a Polygamist=no
 Whether under contract to labor in the US=no
 Condition of Health Mental and Physical=good (except 9)
 Whether having any deformities=no 
Letters that are illegible or difficult to interpret are replaced by ?.

1   has been to San Fco July 1888.
2   has been to San Fco Jan 1894.
3   has been to San Fco Jan 10, 1894.  He is going to join Brother 220 3rd St.
4   is unable to read and write.  He has been to the US Oct 1893.
5   is unable to read and write.  He has been to San Fco Oct 1893.  He is 
     going to join "Sister 611 Howard St."
6   has been to San Fco Oct 1893.
7   has been to San Fco Oct 1893.
4-7 Last Residence is Callao on board Bark Templar.  Passage was paid by US 
     consul at Callao.
8   has been to San Fco Feby 1892.
9   Last Residence is "on board of U.S. Man o'War Bennington.  Final Destination
     is "Hospital at Mare Island."  Passage was paid by Commander of Bennington.
     He has been to San Fco May 9, 1894.  He is described as Rheumatic in the 
     Health column.
10  has been to San Fco Feb 1894.  He is going to join "Family, Oakland, Cal, 
     his Final Destination.
11  has been to San Fco Nov 18, 1893.  He is going to join "Wife & fam 
     609 Castro St.  He has been in prison.
12  has been to San Fco Oct 3, 1893.
13  has been to San Fco June 8, 1894.  He is going to join Mrs C. Barnes 
    # 43 S. 3rd St San Jose.
14  Last Residence is Cent America Champerico.  He has been to San Fco Jany 1894.
15  is listed on the same line as her husband simply as "& wife."  Age, sex, and
     occupation are squeezed in.
16  has been to San Fco Oct 1893.  
17  has been to Bakersfield Dec 3, 1884.  He is going to join Brother, Bakersfield.
18  suname is Prouty or Pronty.  She has been to San Fco July 1893.  She is going
     to join Grandparents 1408 Kearney St.
19  has been to San Fco May 1893.  He is going to join "My family, Canada."
