LIST OR MANIFEST OF ALIEN IMMIGRANTS FOR THE COMMISSIONER OF IMMIGRATION.
Required by the regulations of the Secretary of the Treasury of the United States, under Act of Congress, approved March 3, 1893, to be delivered to the Commissioner of Immigration by the Commanding Officer of any vessel having such passengers on board upon arrival at a port in the United States.
S.S. China, sailing from Yokohama Oct 12th, 1894 arriving at Port of San Francisco, 25 Oct, 1894.
Columns represent: Number, Name, Age, Sex, Married or Single*, Occupation, Nationality, Last Residence, Final Destination in the US, Whether in Possession of Money-if less than $30, how much?, Whether ever before in the US, Whether going to join Relative or Friend

There is no captain's statement nor captain's name attached to this manifest.
The following columns had identical entries for all passengers and so were 
not included in the table:
 Able to Read & Write=yes 
 Seaport for Landing in the US=San Francisco  
 Whether having a ticket to final destination=yes (except 13)
 By whom was passage paid?=self 
 Whether ever in Prison, Almshouse or supported by Charity=no
 Whether a Polygamist=no
 Whether under contract to labor in the US=no
 Condition of Health Mental and Physical=good
 Whether having any deformities=no 
In the Married or Single column heading "or Single" is crossed out.

Passenger Notes:
 2  occupation is "House servant."  She is going to join her husband Tajima 
     Tomohishi, Japanese Mission Oakland.
 3  has been "five years New York until 1894."  transf into cabin is written 
     in the line.
 5  occupation is "wife of Taichiro Ito."
 7  has been to San Francisco 1894.
 8  has been to San Francisco 1894.
 9  occupation is "join her husband."  In the Going to Join" column it says 
     "husband Segawa Hats?tori 822 Sacramewnto St San F." 
13  has no ticket to final destination.
