Personal Notes:
Passengers #69-71 & 75 Müller
69-71 & 75 Gesche (Mahnken) Müller, son Peter and wife Anna (Schnakenberg) Müller, and Peter's brother John Henry, from Fischerhude, Kingdom of Hanover, Germany. Dierk Müller, the father, had died ten years prior. Another son, Cord Müller, twin of John Henry, had come to USA the year before. Gesche's brother-in-law Jacob Timken, widower of her late sister Trine, had immigrated a month prior with a group of families who were forming a new settlement in Missouri near the junction of NE Benton, NW Morgan, and SE Pettis Counties. Gesche and son Peter each entered land in the Lake Creek area of Benton County June 19, 1839. Cord joined them that fall after he married in St Louis, but John Henry remained in St Louis until his marriage in 1842. Gesche died at Lake Creek June 20, 1865.
In 1946, Peter's grandson wrote a family letter describing early times in the settlement, which may be viewed at
Müller Chronicle. Please also visit German Immigrants.
Arnold John Muller Jr is a descendant of passengers 69-70 Peter & Anna Müller, and the brother Cord Müller who preceded them was the transcriber's great great grandfather.
