I, James A. Wolton do solemnly, sincerely, and truly swear that the following List or Manifest of Passengers, subscribed with my name, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs for the Duties of New-York, contains to the best of my knowledge and belief, a just and true account of all the Passengers received on board the Ship Burgundy whereof I am Master, from Havre. Sworn to the 21st February 1842, J.A. Wolton (his signature) before me M.L. Davis Dr.(his signature)

Columns represent: Names, Age, Sex, Occupation, The country to which they severally belong, and The country in which they intend to become inhabitants.

States Transcriber's Notes: An asterisk is used to call your attention to additional information in the Transcriber's Notes. The ? marks indicates letters or words that cannot be read due to the quality of the original document. The copy of the manifest that I received had a large section of the right side missing. I had to search for sections from previously transcribed manifests of the same time period to have the correct wording of the sworn statement. My copy did not show a died on voyage column. At the top left hand corner of the manifest is written: Sold by Wm. E. Sibell, Stationer, 1 Nassau, cor. of Wall. * Passengers: 1 - Coyluce - first name looks like Comes. 3 - Ga???s - the name could be Garins or Gaines. 5 - Crocker - the ? letters in the first name, R????: 1st letter could be "e" or "u"; 2nd letter is "h", "l", or "t"; last letters could be "ere", "re", or "ue". 6 - Disformnead - his first name could be Andrew.National Archives and Records Administration, Film M 237, Reel 48. If you find an ancestor on a ship on ISTG and would like to link to your email address or home page, please submit a short paragraph about the passenger, where settled, children, etc., with the name of the ship and date of arrival, and send to the transcriber at the bottom of the manifest or to the ISTG Production Coordinator. Be sure to include the name of the SHIP and VOLUME number.
