Transcriber's notes:
* In the Manifest, repetitive words were usually ditto'd, indicated by a
dash or Do., which sometimes created nonsense such as Whitsmith occupation
for an infant and its mother (see # 55 and 56). Also, James, Lawrence and
Thomas Falons (114-116) are obviously not Spinsters.
* The ^ indicates that the next letter was raised, usually the last letter of
a first name.
* After the first appearance of Steerage (Passenger 52) there were no dittos;
I assume that the rest of passengers were in Steerage.
Passenger Notes:
1-2 Country of origin was listed as Strokstown, which may have been
Strokestown, Ireland.
2 Rose Jones was the only passenger who said she intended to settle in
Great Britain, a country other than the US.
11 Probably McGrinly.
26 The last letter of Rumbe is uncertain but looks like a weak "e".
31 First name Diora or Dina or Dioia.
44 Could be Jeffery or Leffery.
45 Age of John Evans was not a number, maybe an infant.
70-71 Derilen or Devilen; r and v look alike.
76 First name Wimy or Wirny Horvan.
89 Probably Pouter; line drawn diagonally across the u.
121 Mary had a middle initial, perhaps an E.
122 Probably Lexan, although the first letter might be a T.
126 Looks like Nately O'Horo but the t is not crossed and the letter after
the H is not clear.
139 Last 3 letters fade; may be Magolsig, Magolry.
141 Letters run together; maybe Senuengs.
143 Last letters of first name run down; probably Catharine.
149 Letter missing; may be Hoonan.
154 Surname could be Ternon or Zernon. Manifest inconsistant in writing
certain letters.
156 Or could be Swian.
175 Sarah looked like Senah Coyle. At 11 years old she obviously is not a
widow (indicated by ditto marks from previous line on the Manifest).
176 First name Leneca or Lerreca.
181-182 Last name Hoten is not clear, but Hroten or Huten are unlikely.
187 First name Bidiela or Bidicla.
193 Looks like Miab, but could be Mcab or Mcal or Mial.
195 The last letter is raised. Scot^t perhaps
National Archives and Records Administration, Film M237, Reel 220, Number 616.
