Bark Annie E. Sherwood

DISTRICT OF NEW YORK - PORT OF NEW YORK
I, E.L. Talbot Master of the Bark Annie E Sherwood do solemnly, sincerely and truly swear that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection District of New York, is a full and perfect list of all the passengers taken on board of the said Bark Annie E Sherwood at Montevideo from which port said Bark Annie E. Sherwood has now arrived; and that on said list is truly designated the age, the sex, and the occupation of each of said passengers, the part of the vessel occupied b each during the passage, the country to which each belongs, and also the country of which it is intended by each to become an inhabitant, and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of said passengers who have died on said voyage, and the name and ages of those who died. signed E.L. Talbot So help me God.
Sworn to this June 12 1871 before me "unreadable".

   recorder, not the transcriber, or is used to call your attention
   to additional information in the transcriber's notes.

?  Indicates a letter or number which could not be determined due
   to the condition of the manifest or handwriting of the original
   recorder

*  PASSENGER LIST T.W. ROE & Co. Stationers and Printers, 
   63 Wall St. N.Y.

*  There were no deaths on the voyage so this column was
   eliminated.

1  This manifest is very light making it very hard to see.  The
   two letters in the middle of the last name are not below the
   line and not high above the line.  It looks like Leil, Liel.
2  Here again it is very light it looks almost like two different
   people have written this manifest. I can see the De the Ar??? 
   is really questionable without a vowel.  It could be DeArcke
   But then the spelling from Uruguay may not require a vowel as
   the U.S. does. I can not see any markings above any of the 
   letters. Even when I sent a scan to the list fellow 
   transcribers they could not help much. 
4 - 8 Here in the occupation column the Captain has written
    "wife children, of Smith.
