Transcriber's Notes:

* An asterisk indicates an error on the part of the original recorder, not
the transcriber, or is used to call your attention to additional information
   in the transcriber's notes.

? Indicates a letter or number which could not be determined due to the
condition of the manifest or handwriting of the original recorder.

* Colon, formally Aspinwall is in Panama. A excerpt of a diary from 1867
notes - "we stepped upon the pier at Aspinwall, as the Americans call it,
though its original name was Colon, until the formation of the Panama
Railroad Company, when the town was re-christened after Joseph Aspinwall,
one of the leaders of that enterprise. We walked up the pier, passed a
gate guarded by a soldier on either side, and came out in the city of
Aspinwall, U. C., as it was printed on the hotel cards. After consultation
of maps, etc., we came to the conclusion that "U. C." stood for "United Colombia."

Colón (formerly called Aspinwall), Panama, seaport, on Limon Bay, at
   n. terminus of Panama Canal and railroad; tourist center; founded during
   building of railroad 1850; named Aspinwall for railroad builder 1852-90;
   pop. 68,700

* The last column Part of Ship Occupied has 1st Class handwritten on the first
line (36 year old male), and Saloon handwritten on the second line (12 year
old male). It is doubtful the child would be in another part of the ship.
After that, there is a squiggly line going down the entire column. All
numbers appear on the left side of the squiggly line. These figures total
   16 passengers.

* Passengers were numbered by the transcriber and were not on the original
   file.

* The only Occupation listed was for M. Montoya, Merchant. therefore the
   Occupation Column has been eliminated.

* There were no births or deaths on this passage therefore, the birth/death
   column has been eliminated.
