Transcriber's notes:
* The use of an * indicates an omission or error made by the
original recorder.
? The use of a ? indicates a word or letters that could not
be read, due to quality of the original document.
* This transcript came with a cover sheet attached which
does not appear to belong to it. The cover sheet mentions
a ship called "Montauk", which sailed on the same date as
the Adirondack from the same port, Limon. The printed
number "1207" also appears (the NARA volume number).
* No notation was made on this transcript describing the
location which passengers occupied during the trip;
likewise no deaths were recorded, nor was any
information presented regarding the passengers' plans for
a protracted sojourn in the USA. Therefore I have
eliminated those columns.
* Br. stands for Brig, a type of ship.
* The ports of origin are located in South America. Port Limon
is thought to be Puerto Limon in Costa Rica although there
is a Port Limon in Honduras.
* The master's signature is illegible.
* Thos. is short for Thomas.
* Dep. Coll. is short for Deputy Collector.
* Pt Lim is short for Port Limon (Honduras).
Passenger # 1 - In John B. Dougherty's occupation, C. Engineer
stands for Civil Engineer.
Passenger # 3 - In C.H.Gibson's occupation, Eng'r stands for
Engineer.
Passenger #49 - This passenger has only a first name given; no
lettering or ditto marks or any other mark(s)
at all appear where his last name should be.
