"At the Courthouse of Philadelphia, October 17th, 1732. Sixty one Palatines, who with their families, making in all One hundred and sixty nine persons, were imported in the Ship John and William of Sunderland, Constable Tymberton, Master, from Rotterdam, but last from Dover, as by Clearance thence." Transcriber's Notes: * The above list is copied as it appears without alteration or change. Passenger numbers added to aid with referencing. Transcriptions of these lists include compiling from several oaths signed by the same passengers. Some will have a different spelling or some include women on the passage. Pink John & William b Pink John & William c Correspondence added 9 May 2006 [Surname on two women changed from Kooler to Kooger.] Nicholaus Kooger Jacob Kooger Dorothy Kooler Elisabeth Kooler These should all have the same last name. I have done lots and lots of research. Nicholaus and Jacob are decendants of Dietrich Kooger (Koger) of Augen, Germany. Dorothy was Jacob's wife. Elisabeth was Nicholaus' wife. Dietrich was the mayor of Augen. I have been fortunate to find much information about my ancestors, much thru this link: http://www.rootsweb.com/~hcpd/norman/COGER.htm My grandmother was a Koger before she married and has provided me with much of our family history. At 96 she is still a wealth of information with many family records and stories. If you have any other responses looking for this family, please refer them to my public email at easi822@yahoo.com. Thank you, Chris Black Correspondence added 26 February 2008 Hans Emich Dorothy Emich Nicholas Emich Jacob Emich (Johannes) Hans Emich (now spelled Amick) was our first ancestor as I found out with this log to come to this country. He along with his wife Anna Dorothea Rotter (Emich) and children. Nicholas , Jacob and a 1 year old daughter (Magdalena who was born in 1731 and died on the journey to the new world . She was buried at sea. We had this oral history told to us as children and had not found it in print until just recently. I have a list of nine (9) children for Johannes and Dorothea. I have searched and searched for this record. I was delighted to find the passenger list. Although I haven't found all of their names on the ships list. We knew that he came from the Palatinate area. But until I started researching didn't realize the importance of this event. I was very pleased to realize that long ago that an unknown ancestor created a beginning in the new world for our family.
