Notes on Family of Maureen Famolare, Passengers 149 & 150
My grandmother Jessie Brodie Thompson worked for the U.S. Army during WWI. I'm not quite sure what her job was, but she was attached to the Quartermaster Corps. My grandfather Eddy Delbert Hankins was a First Lieutenant in the Quartermaster Corps, so I would imagine this is how they met.
My grandmother came to New York with her father, William Bruce, as a war bride. She and her father either met my grandfather in New York or in Wichita, Kansas. My grandmother and grandfather were married on October 31, 1919 and had two children, Silvie Mary and Delbert Bruce.
My grandparents had 9 grand-children, but only lived to see 5 of them. The information I received on the ships crossing came from a booklet given to passengers by the Cunard Steam Ship Co. Ltd. The booklet also lists the ships officer
