R.M.S. Mauritania

Writing Room and Library - "A" Deck. The predominant style of
decoration is Louis Seize. The walls are panelled with grey sycamore
and dead gold carving. The large bookcases have been copied from
those in the celebrated Trianon Library at Versailles.

Lounge and Ball Room - "A" Deck. The Lounge forms a perfect
representation of an eighteenth century French Salon. The panellings
are of dull polished mahogany. A new parquet dancing floor has also
recently been laid.

Smoking Room - "A" Deck. This is decorated in the Italian period of
the fifteenth century with panelling in carved French walnut. This
smoking room is one of the most comfortable afloat.

Verandah Cafe - "A" Deck. The verandah cafe offers a sheltered position,
which is amongst the most frequented of any portion of the ship. It is
a favourite resort for afternoon tea or a quiet smoke.

Dining Saloon. One of the most magnificent rooms ever installed on board
a ship. It is in two storeys, the main saloon being on "C" deck and the
upper saloon on Upper "C" deck. The scheme of decoration is Francois
Premier. The woodwork is in light oak and the ornamentation and panelling
is hand carved.

Children's Room - Upper "C" Deck. This special room has been suitably
decorated to please the juvenile taste. There are a series of panels
illustrating the old nursery rhyme: "Four-and-twenty Blackbirds."

Royal Suites and En Suite Rooms. These are situated on "A" and "B" decks.
