Transcriber's notes:
The use of * indicates error or omission made by the original recorder
The use of a ? indicates words or letters that could not be read due to the
quality of the writing or the copy
?passenger 1: Posada, Galicia- could be Posada Chyrowska, currently in Ukraine,
Posada Dolna, currently in Poland, Posada Felsztyn~ska, in Ukraine, Posada
Go~rna, in Poland, Posada Jac~mierska in Poland, Posada Jas~liska in Poland, Posada Liska
in Poland, Posada Nowomiejska, in Ukraine, Posada Olchowska in Poland, Posada Rybotycka in
Poland, Posada Sanocka in Poland, Posada Zarsan~ska in Poland. Other passengers
(like #17 and 19) also list the same country Galicia which I believe is Galacia bordering
Romania. (help on name of country and area received by Terry Stella - thank you)
*there are a total of 30 entries on this page but the names of the passengers
from 21 to 30 are illegible on my copy.
*Aron Brantz is not known by me to be a son of Moses Brantz (I'm Moses'
grandson) - most likely Aron was a nephew of his or is the name of the man we
knew as his brother, namely, Fishel Brantz. It is also possible that this
word might be Anon (for unknown spelling by the original transcriber).
*the town of Brajla is probably the European way of spelling Braila.

Family of transcriber
Moses and Amalia Brantz were this transcriber's maternal grandparents. My
mother was Anna Brantz Green, passenger #6. Moses died in 1926 in Phila., Pa.
and Amalia died in 1951 in Phila.
Their son Harry, passenger #5 (listed as Hersch) died in 1917 in a fall
from a roller coaster ride in Phila., Pa.. He served with the US Army on the
American Mexican border campaign in 1916.
A year before their arrival a son David and daughter Rachel arrived in this
country. It is possible, but not likely, that Moses claimed he was going to be
with his son, David, as I think the transcriber would have had no trouble with
that name, and we have information that David left Phila. shortly after his
arrival in Phila.and moved to Bradford, Pa. to live with an Aunt and Uncle,
Toabe and Adolph Greenberg.
I have recently learned that Toabe was Moses' sister. This fact was
never revealed to me by my mother or Grandmother. I learned of this as the
result of a note I placed on a Prodigy Classic bulletin board asking for info
about the name of Brantz., and last year I received an EM from a Tod Halpern
who claimed to be the great grandson of Toabe and had her papers showing that
she was David's aunt, thereby making her Moses' sister!!! Tod also had found
letters written by Moses from Braila a year or two before immigrating
indicating that he was in poor health and in financial trouble, and asking his
nephews for some assitance in getting to the USA. Brief histories of the
children of Moses and Amalia are as follows:

Rachel - married Albert Gadol, had 2 children. Vivian, married Frank Penico,
has 1 son, Victor, who married Doris Popko; they had one son, Theodore Edward;
Albert Buddy - married Shirley - no children.

David - married Ida Ellison, had 2 children-Willis, married Shirley and had 1
son., Richard; Evelyn, married Albert Greenberg - had 1 daughter, Eileen, who
has 1 daughter - Karen. Dave married Bea after Ida died, and they had 1
daughter, Marcia, who had 2 daughters.

Victoria - married Harry Siebert, and then Al Cohen - had no children.

Hersch - died at age 17.

Anna - married Herman I. Green, they had 2 sons - Harry and Joseph. Harry
married Barbara Gass and they had 3 children. Deborah has one son - Mitchell.
Leslie, married Barryn Erschen, they have 2 sons, Barry, Sr. and Zachary.
Donald married Sherry Demers and they have 3 sons - Philip, Michael, and Bryan.
Joseph married Rhoda Rabinowitz and they have 2 sons, Michael and Marc.
Michael married Elisa Patkau and they have 1 daughter, Stephanie. Marc
married Arlene Hazan, and they have 1 son, Daron.

Pessel - known to all as Louis - married Jean Brantz. They had 2 children,
George and Betty. Betty married Martin Appel and they had 3 children, Deborah,
Peter and David. Deborah married Charles Firestone and they have two children,
Mathew and Lindsey. George married Joan Nadler and they have 2 daughters, Amy
and Nancy. Nancy married Rick Ginsberg and they have 3 children - Daniel, Rose
and Hannah.

The offspring of Toabe and Adolh Greenberg is another story that will
eventually find it's way here.

The transcribed information was obtained from a copy of the manifest
purchased by Harry Green and was received 12/15/93 without reference to the
microfilm identity other than Page Y-2. This information maybe
obtained from NARA if necessary as I have a copy of the Purchase Order which
has a reference number - B273974, dated 12/15/93. Files were searched
