Transcriber's Notes:
The use of an * indicates an omission or error made by the original recorder.
The use of a ? indicates an omission or error made by the original recorder.
The term "m" in the age column indicates the age is recorded in months.
The symbol ^ indicates that the letters following the ^ were written in superscript
or very small letters written in the upper portion of the line.
PASSENGER #112 John Bra?for? Writing is not clear, the first ? appears to be an
n and the second ? the letter d or k or even th. The transcriber believes the
name could be Branford or Branfork or Branforth. This last letter appears to be
overwritten.
PASSENGER #113 is identical to the above. Except the last name is entered as
"do" which means "ditto".
PASSENGER #113 Rob^t McMahoue The first name is probably Robert.
PASSENGER #121 The Deaths at Sea column, which is not shown above, contains the
date October 23^rd. The transcriber believes that Ruth Fork died at sea on that
date.
PASSENGER #126 & 127 William & Ann Bird The last name ends with a larger circular
flourish that could resemble an e, this could make the last name Birde.
PASSENGER #128 Will^m Pidd The first name is probably William.
PASSENGER #133 & 134 Catherine and Bridget She?an The transcriber believes the name
to be Shewan, however the surname breaks after the fourth letter leaving "an" slightly
spaced from that letter which could be a "w" or "u" or "n" or "ui" or "ni" providing
surnames of Sheuan or Shenan or Sheuian or Shenian.
PASSENGER #144 Joseph Sturdy The fraction 1/2 appears in the age in years column
which may indicate an age of 2 weeks or is a way of recording 6 months. In all other
cases the recorder has been consistent in recording the age younger than one year in
the "months" column. The transcriber of this list has combined the two columns.
PASSENGER #145 W^m Rowe The first name is probably William.
PASSENGER #146 W^m Stephens The first name is probably William.
PASSENGER #155 Will^m Dennison The first name is probably William.
PASSENGER #157 Joseph Lord The last letter of the surname ends in a flourish that
resembles the letter "e" making the surname Lorde.
PASSENGER #158 Edw^d Martin The first name is probably Edward.
PASSENGER #164 John ?vet? The transcriber believes the surname to be Ivett. Another
possibility is Ivets. The first ? does look like "J" since it is almost identical to
the "J" in the first name. That would produce a surname of Jvett or Jvets.
PASSENGER #169 Esther Gallaher In place of the expected F(emale) in the Sex column,
the term "Spinster" appears.
PASSENGER #173 Mich^l Kinsilla The first name is probably Michael.
PASSENGER #176 Pat^k Freney The first name is probably Patrick.
PASSENGER #179 Cath^e Quirk The first name is probably Catharine.
PASSENGER #185 Dan^l Donevan The first name is probably Daniel.
PASSENGER #192 James Odonnell The "d" in the surname is written larger than the following
letters but is written as a lower case "d" not a capital "D".
PASSENGER #193 Marg^t Hannahan The first name is probably Margaret.
PASSENGER #195 Marg^t FitzGerald The first name is probably Margaret.
PASSENGER #198 to 203 W^m (which is probably William) S??cer thru Martin S??cer. The
surname begins with an mid-line upstroke ending above the line, a downstroke slightly
below the line and a "two-thirds complete" semi-circle that could make the letter a "u"
or "hi" or "p". The surnames could be Slucer or Shicer or Spicer. The transcriber
believes it to be Shicer.
PASSENGER #204 Margaret OHara The surname is written without an apostrophe but as two
adjoining capital letters.
PASSENGER #208 Michael Cu??ey The transcriber believes the name to be Cuttey, however the
first ? appears to be an upstroke following the "u" and then the pen appears to have been
lifted and when placed back on the surname created the second ? that appears to be an "l"
but both ?? are crossed which would make them both the letter "t". Other possibilities are
Custey or Cutley.
PASSENGER #231 Pat^k McLeary The first name is probably Patrick.
PASSENGER #233 Marg^t McGuinness The first name is probably Margaret.
