Transcriber's Notes:
The use of an * indicates an ommission or error made by the original
recorder.
The use of a ? indicates a word or letter(s) that could not be read, due to
quality of the original document.
Ages for young children given with a fraction of 1/2 years (The word years
is written out (or dittoed)) for the following passengers: 4, 6, 20, 39,
48, 71, 81, 94, 111, 121, 122, 129, 135 and 141. Months is written out
only for passenger #63.
*Listed in the column of Names of Passengers died on the voyage are Charles
Cuttill aged 5 years, listed with passenger #5 and Lucretia Silk aged ?,
listed with passenger #8. I assume those are the families they traveled
with.
1. Probably 'Jamaica' misspelled.
8. Age of Lucretia was off the edge of the page and copied in as ? when
microfilm was copied.
20. Name looks like Melding, but might be 'Meldrum' or Meldrim except there
is a descending letter and/or flourish at the end.
22. Name might be Byrner or Bynner.
23. The 'm' is superscripted- middle name is William. Letters after the 'd'
in the surname are a long squiggle, and could be more or different than
'ing'
30. Name might be Cwarrin Cwanin or Cwarnin.
33. Name might be Caniff or Carriff.
37. This name clearly says Tookey, the next following names--same family--
say Toohey.
41. Age could be 10 or 16, it has been written over, the more likely is 10.
43. Occupation appears to say Kewiller. It might be Kneller (chimneysweep)
or a phonetic spelling of Quiller (one who winds thread onto rolls).
56 & 57. First letters of first name are partially obliterated paper
torn/blotted)
88. First name is hard to read.
98. First name might be Court or Count.
101. Rebecca's last name is clearly written with an initial 'R'. Most likely
it is Kennett like the rest of the family.
106. Last name might be Margery, Margerty or Margetts. The last letter
doesn't exactly descend although it does seem as if that may have been
the intention.
107-111. Last name might be Harbound or Harbourd or Harbornd
113-115. Last names appear to be the same/similar except for the first
letter which is written differently in each name. The clearest name is
for #115. The letters between the 'Pro' and the 'ger' appear as a long
squiggle (no ascending or descending letters until the 'g'.
118. Name is hard to read due to darkness of the copy. Might be Anna.
143. 'th' is superscripted (Elizabeth)
144. 'm' is superscripted (William)
