Transcriber's Notes:
* The use of an * indicates an omission or error made by the
original recorder.
* For ease in reading, the Man, Woman, Child columns were condensed
into one single column and M-man, W-woman, or C-child was used in
place of a 1 in the column.
* An X at the end of a line indicated this was an infant and the age
listed in weeks not months.
* The copy was very poor and had many spatters and very difficult to
read much of the time. The use of a ? indicates a word or letters
that could not be read-due to the quality of the original document.
* It was difficult at times to tell the i, e, r, u, m or n apart due
to the original writer of this document pressing lightly on the pen
in the center of letters. The c and e's were sometimes very
similar looking.
# 1 - 3 the ? appeared to be an l or t. This might have been meant as
Washington.
# 7 the town going to did not have the h at the end making it
Pittsburgh.

to be a small letter f (not a capital letter).

after the e, and a space before the last name which looked
like the writer could not make out the name.

Correspondence 3/24/01 passengers 117-121 Kaseberg
I found the maternal ancestors of my late husband, A. J. Schonder. They
were the grandparents and the father of my late husband's mother, Pauline
Kaesberg Schonder.
It was Adolph (Frederick Adolph) that was Pauline's father. They went to
Indiana first, then went to St Clair County, Illinois, where they settled.
The town of Sain is actually Sayn, near Koblenz, Germany
