Transcribers notes:

26, 85, 91, 92, 132, 133, 138, 168 James is written "Ja^s"

Occupations:
Clerk: 39, 84, 85 and 40-49, 86-96 indicated by a wavy line
Doctor: 6, 23, 53, 63, 230 Doctor written "D" with "r" above
the line and Physician written "Phys"

Transcriber's Notes:
An * indicates an error or deviation on the part of the original
recorder; a ? indicates letters or words that cannot be read due
to the legibility/quality of the original document.
The ?s in the Deputy Collector's name indicates letters that can
not be definitively read. The Deputy Collector's name is written
with all the letters joined together and with DC attached.
The writing is uniform in size and height except for the final "C"
which is a twice the size in width and height and falling above and
below the line of script. The first letter looks like an "N" with
the remainder of the letters possibly being "Bomn" followed by DC
If this is an accurate interpretation it would make the name
N. Bomn, DC
2 ? indicates a letter that most resembles a "W" for Wells but
can be a "N" for Nells
4 Name indicated by a wavy line and "do" under previous name
9 Surname written "M^cCorkle" The "c" is connected to the top
loop of the "C"
11 Express written with leading "s"
13 Captain abbreviated "Capt"
15 The ? indicates 3 letters, none of which go above or below the line.
I submit Agiarr, Agiror, Agrrir
36 The G is followed by what I believe is an "r", however, it is not
quite the same as other "r's" he wrote in that this time he brought
his pen up to midline and continued over to the "o". Consequently,
I do not want to rule out the fact that this might be a not quite
closed "o". So, I submit two suggestions: Grotdass or Gootdass.
47 The ? indicates that there is an ink spot that may be obscuring
the space for one or two letters. I submit Gilma and Gilman as
possibilities
62 has no title listed in the name but "Phys" under occupation. Please
note that passenger 63 is titled "D" with raised "r" but under
occupation is listed as "Lawer" which is the same spelling used
for lawyer in the occupation of passenger 50 who is titled "Judge".
63 See comment directly above
70 The ? indicates a letter that can not be discerned. The script
comes up after the "l" to midpoint and curves slightly down into
a leading "s". Consequently, I submit possible names of Luietless
or Luietliss,
72 The ? indicates a letter that does not go above or below the line.
I submit Wanigefield and Wariegefield as possbilites
74 The ? indicates a letter that has characteristics of both the capital
"I" and "J"
80 Benjamin is written as "Benj"
90 The Name definitely looks like Jame but possibly the letters are Janie
92 Surname written "M^cAllister"
105 The ? indicates a letter that has characteristics of both the
capital "I" and "J"
106 The ? indicates a letter that has characteristics of both the
capital "I" and "J"
114 The ? indicates a letter that has characteristics of both the
capital "I" and "J"
120 The first ? indicates a letter that has characteristics of both
the capital "I" and "J". The second ? indicates a letter the does
not extend above or below the line and I believe is a "u"
139 The ? indicates a letter that may be a "y" or "g"
140 The ? indicates a letter that has characteristics of both the
capital "I" and "J"
155 The ? indicates a letter that has characteristics of both the
capital "I" and "J"
156 The ? indicates a letter that has characteristics of both the
capital "I" and "J"
159 The ?'s indicate illegible letters. None of the missing letters
extend above or below the line Second letter most likely e but
could also be "I" (undotted). I submit, Redner, Ridner, Rednira,
Redwine, Redam, Redamar, Redans, Redane, Redarm as possiblitities
165 Surname written "M^cLaughlin" The "c" is connected to the loop
of the "L"
169 The final sweep after the d could be read as a "s" so I submit
Sirnard and Sirnards
171 Surname written "M^cDermott" The "c" is connected to the top loop
of the "D"
175 Given name is written as "Ed." (with a period after the "d")
176 The ? indicates a letter that has characteristics of both the
capital "I" and "J"
177 Surname indicated by "do"
190 Captain is written "Capt"
191 USN is indicated by a wavy line
207 Surname indicated by a wavy line
219 The ? indicates a letter that has characteristics of both the
capital "I" and "J"
226 The ? indicates a letter written as he has written all "C" but
there is what appears to be a stray mark coming down across the
beginning of the upsweep of the "C". The result does not resemble
any of his other letters, thus the conclusion it is a stray mark.
227 The ? indicates a letter that has characteristics of both the
capital "I" and "J"
231 The first ? indicates a letter that has characteristics of both
the capital "I" and "J", the second ? indicates an ink spot which
obscures the end of the letter after the "t". Consequently, I
submit both Cutler and Cuther
233 The ? indicates a letter that has characteristics of both the
capital "I" and "J"
237 The ? indicates a letter that has characteristics of both the
capital "I" and "J"
242 The ? indicates a letter that has characteristics of both the
capital "I" and "J"
243 The ? indicates a letter that has characteristics of both the
capital "I" and "J"
