I, J. G. Russell do solemnly, sincerely and truly swear that the following
List or Manifest of Passengers, subscribed with my name, and now delivered by
me to the Collector of the Customs for the District of New York, contains, to
the best of my knowledge and belief, a just and true account of all the
Passengers received on board the Empire State whereof I am Master, from
Liverpool.

Passenger Notes:
246, 251, 252 - The age was fully or partly unreadable.
256-259a - Surname could be Alliton or Illiton.
261 - Surname could be Donovan.
291-294, 438 - No ages were listed for these passengers.
296 - The word "Hez" appears after seeming surname Wrigley on original list;
unknown significance.
317 & 318 - Second letter of surnames is probably a "y", third letter
probably a "r" or "s," last letter probably an "l," possibly an
"e" or "d", thus names most likely are Fysell, Fysele, Fyseld,
Fyrell, Fyrele, Fyreld
325 - Age could be 30 or 50.
339 - Surname could also be McDonnele
340 & 341 - Surname could be McLorn or McSorn
346 - Surname could possibly be Smithnigale or Smithnigate.
