Transcriber's Notes:
? = Approximate number of letters that are unreadable.
* = Attention to the Transcribers List.
** = Special Attention noted.
There was no sworn statement for this ship.
Numbers added for ease in finding.
The person who created this list had a very poor handwriting - and got
progressively worse as his hand got tired toward the end of the list. He
continually drew a squiggily line at the end of a name making it very
difficult to make out if he meant 'man', 'mann','er', 'es', 'en' or a few
similar name endings.
One oddity in the list is that it seems that first names were used mainly in
Females or Children. Adult males just used their first initial.
All Females had a hand drawn line about two inches long in the occupation
column. No explanation why.
The persons who had "Mech Germany U. St." behind their names were all at
the top of a page. There were no ditto marks for the other passengers.
Abbreviations are probably as follows:
Joh. is probably Johann
Cath. is probably Catherine or Catherina
Wilh, or Wilhm is probably Wilhelm
Whilm. is probably Whilhemina
Christ. is probably Christine or Christina
Chat. is probably Charlotte
Corn. is probably Cornelius
Eliz. or Elizt. is probably Elizabeth
