Correspondence added August 1, 27 passengers 266-271 Andringa
Hello ISTG,
I have located my Great-Great Grandfather and his family on your lists of
the sailing of the "Edam" on 16 May 1887, which landed in New York on
25 May 1887.
The transcription has misspelled many of the names, but they are numbered
on the manifest from lines 266-271. They are as follows, 266 Klaas Andringa,
267 Eeke Kuipers-Andringa, 268 Atje Andringa, 269 Jacob Andringa, 27
Sijbrigje Andringa and 271 Willem Andringa.
This family was living in Sint Jacobiparochie in the province of Friesland
in the Netherlands, sailed from Amsterdam to Ellis Island, and then later
settled in the area of Paterson, New Jersey.
Willem is believed to have died on the passage to America at 2 1/2 years of
age. Klaas and Eeke would have three more children in America, the youngest
of which was my Great Grandfather Wallace.
Sincerely yours,
Thomas Andringa
