I, J Cable do solemnly, sincerely, and truly Swear that the following List or Manifest of Passengers, subscribed with my name, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs for the District of New-York, contains, to the best of my knowledge and belief, a just and true account of all the Passengers received on board the Br. Ship "Earl Durham" whereof I am Master, from Dundee & Aberdeen. So help me God. (signed) Jas* Cabel

ALEXANDER2 SCRYMGEOUR (JOHN1) was born July 05, 1792 in the Croft of 
Killiechangie, Perthshire, Scotland, and died April 18, 1879 in Port Clinton, 
Bay Township, Ottawa County, Ohio.  He married JANE (JEAN) MCRITCHIE 
December 20, 1818 in Church of Scotland, Parrish Church, Kettins, Angus, Scotland.

In June 1836, they, Alexander Scrymgeour and his wife, Jane McRitchie Scrymgeour, 
with their six children bade farewell to their land and sailed away for America 
on a sailing vessel called the "Earl of Durham". After a long and strenous voyage 
of ten weeks they landed in New York City on Friday, August 19, 1836.

In October 1843, this family moved to Ottawa County, Ohio, where Mr. Alexander 
Scrymgeour engaged in farming. Three more children came to this home after their 
arrival in America, namely: William Scrymgeour, Alexander Scrymgeour Jr., and 
Josephine Scrymgeour. (All courtesy of the Family History)

        d. July 22, 1920, At home od daughter, (Mary) Jane Shannon.
iv.	MARY (SCRYMGEOUR) SCRIMGER, b. August 10, 1828, Dundee, Scotland; 
        d. December 14, 1910, Casco Township.
v.	MARGRET SCRYMGEOUR, b. November 21, 1831, Dundee, Scotland; 
        d. July 10, 1921.
vi.	JANE SCRYMGEOUR, b. November 25, 1833, Dundee, Scotland; 
        d. September 27, 1879, Harlan Township.
