Transcriber's Notes:

There is no Captain's statement or signature associated with this manifest.
There are no printed headings at the top of the page to identify the ship,
its departure or arrival port, its arrival date, or the contents of the columns.
At the bottom of the sheet SS Colon Jan 2/1894 is scribbled in with no signature
or initials. The ship is identified as the City of Sydney in the index at the
beginning of the film reel. There are four previous and at least one succeeding
arrival of the Colon on this film. All have "Panama" as port of departure.
There are handwritten headings on the columns: Age, Sex, Nationality, Last
Residence and Destination. The columns I have identified as Name, Occupation,
No of Pieces of Baggage, and Remarks have no headings on the manifest. I have
assigned these names based on the content of the columns and experience with
other lists. Steerage is written at the top of the Name column.

1, 4, 6-8, 10-13
These passengers have all been crossed off on the list. Since other lists
of this period asked for Alien Passengers, perhaps they were crossed out
because they were not aliens. There is an "X" through entries 22-31 on the
right hand side of the list but the individual lines are not crossed off as
    for those passengers previously described.
6-8 There is a bracket to denote that the pieces of baggage are for all these
passengers. The number has been transcribed in the line of the first
    passenger listed.
15-17 There is a bracket to denote that the pieces of baggage are for all these
passengers. The number has been transcribed in the line of the first
    passenger listed.
13 James Foster Husband is written in the Remarks column.
14 Suitor Richmond Cal is written in the Remarks column. Sister seems more
logical but there is an extra loop in the word.
20 Occupation is difficult to read. Drummer is my best guess.
22 What looks like "Rista Farse" is written in the Remarks column. It is very
    blurred and indistinct.
30 The age of this passenger is not clear. It is most likely 44.
31 First name of this passenger looks like Gum or Lum.
