DISTRICT OF NEW YORK – PORT OF NEW YORK
I, James Sumner, Master of the S.S. "Canada" do solemnly, sincerely,
and truly declare that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me, and
now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection
District of New York, is a full and perfect List of all the Passengers taken
on board of the said S.S. Canada at London from which Port said S.S. Canada
has now arrived; and that on the said list is truly designated the age, the
sex, and the occupation of each of the said Passengers, the part of the
vessel occupied by each during the passage, the country to which each
belongs, and also the country of which it is intended by each to become an
inhabitant; and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of
said Passengers who have died on said Voyage, and the names and ages of
those who have died. So help me God. J. W. Sumner.
Sworn to this 30 June 1877, before me (signature cannot be read).
List or Manifest of all the Passengers taken on board the S.S. Canada.
James Sumner is Master from London burthen 3286 tons.
Columns represent: Passenger Name, Age, Sex, Occupation, Country to which
they severally belong, Country of which they intend to become inhabitants,
and the Part of the Vessel occupied by each passenger during the voyage.

and Can for Canada.
No surname was given for passenger Gunheld.
Edward S?????? - the name consists entirely of small letters like u, n, m,
i, e, etc., and it may end in ens or ers.
Henry Lightbo???? - looks like ure or eul.
A???li? Hase - middle letters look like nce or ura or na, last letter could
be n or a.
