I, Saml Jackson, Master of the SS Belgenland, do solemnly, sincerely and
truly swear that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me, and
now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection
District of New York, is a full and perfect list of all the passengers
taken on board of the said Steamer at Antwerp from which port said
Steamer has now arrived; and that on said list is truly designated
the age, the sex, and the occupation of each of said passengers, the part
of the vessel occupied by each during the passage, the country to which each
belongs, and also the country of which it is intended by each to become an
inhabitant; and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of
said passengers who have died on said voyage, and the names and ages of

List or manifest of all the passengers taken on board the SS Belgenland
of which Samuel Jackson is Master, from Antwerp, burthen 4000 tons.
Columns represent: name (last, first), age, sex, occupation, the country to
which they severally belong and the country in which they intend to become
inhabitants. As there were no deaths listed in this section of the list
and as all passengers were listed as Steerage, those columns were eliminated.

My relatives are #50-55 Nicholas Bauer, Catherine Bauer, Johann, Catherine,
Mathew, and Margaret. Mathew is my great grandfather. Nicholas and his
family first settled in Harlem Iowa. They also had one more child once they
moved to the United States. Catherine the mother died not long after they
moved to the US and after Rose the youngest child was born. Nicholas then
moved his family to another county in Iowa and later moved to Morrison
County, Buckman, Minnesota. John, Catherine, and Mathew all are buried here
in Minnesota along with their father Nicholas. Margaret married and lived
in Iowa and the yougest child Rose I'm still searching on. I believe she is
buried in Washington State. Ann Piotrowski
