Correspondence 04/27/02 passengers Klinger and Arzt
The two men named KLINGER [Fieliepp and Peter] [real names were Johann
Philip and Johann Peter] were brothers. They were brothers to my 7Xgreat
grandfather, and were all children of Johannes and Agatha [HEIST] KLINGER.
My 7Xgreat grandfather, Alexander KLINGER, came over to Philadelphia aboard
the ''ALBANY'' on 2 Sep 1749, about two years before these brothers arrived.
Also aboard the ''NEPTUNE'' was a 6Xgreat grandfather, Johann Jacob ARZT
[ARTZ], who settled in the area that would later become Schuylkill County.

Correspondence 09/24/2003 passengers Mentzinger & Kessler
Leonhart Mentzinger, (line 11), is my GGGG Grandfather, born in 1711, to
Martin Mentzinger (B. before 1690) in Eppingen Kraichgau.

Leonhart's entire family along with his father (known as Martin), Johann
Martin Mentzinger.

Leonhart's sister Anna Margaretha Kessler and his Brother in Law Caspar
Kessler, (line 80), (with 7 children.) arrived on the same ship, Neptune,
and signed in on 24 September 1751

Need any, and, all information about Leonhart and the family after
arrival. Especially Ludwig (1746), I have none between their arrival
and Ludwig (1746) entered the Northampton Militia in 1778. Company 2,
Third Battalion, Northampton Co. Militia, 1778, 7th Class.

Ludwig was probably a Blacksmith. I have heard reports of this. But no
facts... Apparently it was on a Census report which I have never seen. He
paid taxes on property in Northampton county and it appears he had two
different tracts . One of about 255 acres, and one 159, reduced to 157 by
the School system.

Obviously, I need the location of records to back-up the stories.

I am looking for much information on my GGG Grandfather, Ludwig
Mentzinger/Mensinger born in Eppingen during 1746, age 5 when he arrived at
the port.

Some where, perhaps when signing the "Oath of Abjuration," Leonhart signed
his name Mensinger or some one else interpreted it that way.

Correspondence 07/05/2005 passenger Appenzeller
My 5-great grandfather was Jacob APPENZELLER, the last name on the list of the
Ship Neptune, Sept. 24, 1751. He settled in Montgomery and Bucks Counties, PA.
After coming to America, he had two children John Jacob and John Henry. Both sons
fought in the Revolutionary War (one on the American and one on the British side).
I would appreciate correspondence with any and all descendents.

Contributor Note:
David Meisenhelder (signed David Maisheller on the list)
is my ancestor.

Correspondence added November 17,2005, SCHEPFNIT
Conrad Schnepf was related to us (Marlies mother side).
He moved to America and fought in the civil war. After
he was given a piece of land on which Philadelphia is
build now. Apparently the family tried to find out more
about it even had lawyers in the States but after the
second world war it all drifted apart.

It looks like Georg Konrad Schnepf was called Conrad Schepfnit
on this ship and he Americanized it to Georg Schnep. These were
Palatines to America. I found this using Google search engine
and plugging in September 24, 1751 ship Neptune Pennsylvania.
I would like to see how the family was divided. Also if he is
in any of the censuses from 1790 on, if he lived to be real old
it would help!!! (20 was middle-age back then).

Thanks,
ED & Marlies Diamond
