I'm sure this word is supposed to be "swear". finally in the sworn statement, the * after the word Philada indicates that the last "a" was written above the midline ( in superscript). * The Collector's name appears to be three letters, the first like a smaller version of a capital "J", the second looks most like an "a" and the third letter extends below the line like a "y". * ? #7 Pea?ton Wright- this is a small letter, possibly two letters. * #9 Robt* Davis- the letter "t" is written in superscript. * ? #15 George Ha??nes- the first ? could be "r" or "s", the second ? is a tall letter like a "t" or "k". * #22 Charles Cranshaw- the * next to the age indicates that the age was written on the manifest in fraction terms. * The passengers on the manifest were not numbered. Numbers were added to aid in identification of passengers in transcriber's notes.
