SS Tacoma


From Yokohama, Japan to Tacoma, Washington
August 16, 1893

I, J. R. Hill, Master of the above-named S.S. Tacoma, from the Port of Yokohama, do solemnly, sincerely, and truly swear that the above List contains the names and descriptions of all the Passengers who were on board the said S.S. Tacoma at the time of or since her departure from the said Port of Yokohoma, or that have been taken on board the said vessel at any foreign port or place and that none have died on the voyage.

LIST OR MANIFEST of all the Passengers taken on board the S.S. Tacoma whereof J. R. Hill is Master, from Yokohama; burden, 2550 tons.
Columns represent: Names, Age: Years, Months, Sex, Occupation, The country to which they sovernlly belong, The country in which they intend to become inhabitants, Died on the voyage, Part of the vessel occupied by each passenger during the voyage.

The use of an * indicates an omission or error made by the original
recorder.

* Sex of passengers was not listed for passengers in steerage.

The sworn statement originally appeared at the bottom of the 
manifest, has been moved to the top.

* #28 Steerage - ?ake, looks like it could be Jake, or Iake.
