DISTRICT OF NEW YORK -- PORT OF NEW YORK
I, M. Murphy Master of the S.S. Scythia do solemnly, sincerely, and truly swear that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection District of New York is a full and perfect List of all the passengers taken on board the said vessel at Liverpool & Queenstown from which port said vessel has now arrived; and that on the said list are truly designated the age, sex, and calling of each of the said passengers, the location of the compartment or space occupied by each during the passage, the country of the Nativity* of each, and also the destination or location intended by each ; and that the said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of the said passengers who have died on the said voyage, and the dates and causes of death, and the names and ages of those who died; also the pieces of baggage of each; also a true statement, so far as it can be ascertained, with reference to the intention of each alien passenger as to a protracted sojourn in this country. 415 - 420  Surname could also be or Mercaldo or Macaldo. A bracket shows that these
           passengers have 4 pieces of luggage together. 
416        Given name could be Ludevika or Ludwika.
417        Given name starts with Fr and ends in y, but the rest is not definite,
           the name could be Franny.
418        Given name may start with an M and maybe Manon.
420        Given name may be Anney.
421 - 424  a bracket shows that these passengers have 3 pieces of luggage together.
           The last name could be Opalka.
421        Given name starts with Ma but the last 2 letters are questionable.
425 - 429  Surname may start with a letter other than "P" and end with a letter
           other than "a".  The last name could be Latta.
           A bracket shows that these passengers have 4 pieces of luggage together.
430 - 432  a bracket shows that these passengers have 1 piece of luggage together.
           The last name could be Sochs.
433        Given name starts with an "A", maybe Avrum or Aram.

           and ends in "ty" or maybe "dy".
