SS Ohio
I, R. von Emster Master of the Ger. SS Ohio of Bremen do solemnly sincerely and truly swear that the annexed list, subscribed with my name, contains, to the best of my knowledge and belief, a just and true account or report of all the passengers who have been taken on board the said vessel at Bremen or any other Foreigh Port, or at sea, and brought in the said vessel into any district of the United States since her departure from the said Port of (no port entry here).
Sworn to this 5 day of April 1873 Before me, W M ?? (port authority signature indecipherable) Signed: R v Emster
Name of Vessel, Ohio Nation of do, German Name of Master, R v. Emster Port Sailed from Bremen Number of Aliens 479 Number of Citizens 13 Consignees, Mssrs, Schumacher & Co. Owners, North German Lloyd of Bremen
Alien Passengers landed at the Port of Baltimore, from the Steam Ship Ohio, R. v. Emster is Master, on the 5 day of April 1873 from Bremen
Unless otherwise noted, all passengers claimed Germany as their last legal residence or country of birth. Columns represent name, age, sex, occupation. The original document seems to have been heavily damaged, particularly obscurring the columns for gender and occupation (which were the final columns in the original document). I have included these designations only where they are clearly present on the original document. The first two passengers were probably cabin, the remainder, steerage passengers; although, only the numbering indicates this division.
