Ship Newburyport


Liverpool to Massachusetts*
11 October 1825

MASSACHUSETTS
I, Moses Goodrich do solemnly, sincerely, and truly swear, that the within REPORT and LIST, subscribed with my name and now delivered by me to the Collector of the district of BOSTON AND CHARLESTOWN*, contains, to the best of my knowledge and belief, the names, age, sex and occupation of all the passengers, together with the name of the country to which they severally belong, and that of which they intend to become inhabitants, which were on board the Ship Newbury-Port whereof I am at present master, at the time of her sailing from the port of Liverpool or which have at any time since been taken on board the said vessel. and I do likewise swear that all matters whatsoever in said report and list expressed, are, to the best of my knowledge and belief, just and true. REPORT AND LIST of the passengers taken on board the ship Newburyport of Newburyport, whereof Goodrich is master, burthen 323 tons and 17/95ths of a ton, bound from the port of Liverpool for Newburyport.*

Transcriber's Notes:     
This ship was filed with ships for Newburyport, Massachusetts.  
However, the form for the captain's sworn statement was for 
Boston and Charlestown, even though it was filled in for port 
of Newburyport.  The Collector who signed the form was the 
Collector for Boston and Charlestown.

  #1 age was 40 or 60.
  #2 age was 30 or 36.
  #5 age was 40 or 60.
 #13 2 or 3 letters, none extend above mid-point of line.
 #17 age was 26 or 36.
 #18 possibly a letter on end of surname.  
     Does not extend above mid-point of line.
 #20 age possibly 34.
 #21 same as #18.
 #27 surname is Connay or Conway.
 #32 either c or r in question.
 #34 possibly c for 1st letter in question.  Possibly n or r on end.
