The use of a ? indicates a word or letters that could not be read, due to quality of original document. * The column "Country in which they intend to become inhabitants" has been omitted as all passengers intended to inhabit the United States. * The column, "Number and Names of Passengers who have died on the voyage" had just one entry and has been omitted. See the transcriber note for passenger 601. * Passenger numbering has been altered slightly from how they were on the manifest. There was an error by the recorder in the first portion of this passenger list. Therefore, altering all the numbering on this portion. Also, there was an error in numbering in this portion right before the first class passenger portion. * Several first names and occupations were abbreviated by the recorder. For example, Servt for Servant and Margt for either Margaret, Margaretha or Margarethe. Abbreviations were often written with a raised last letter. * The person who wrote the manifest made a,e,i,o,u, m and n very similar. Lower case "l" and "t" look alike, except often the "t" was crossed and the "l" was not. * Infants are listed with the abbreviation of inft followed by a number, the number is likely the age of the infant in months. ? 368 Surname could be McJeaty. ? 370, 371, and 372 Surname could be Fengar. ? 373 Surname could be Mullen. ? 376 Surname could be Nunballo, Nunbullo, or Nanballo. ? 386 Surname could be Kitt. ? 387 Surname could be Krehire. ? 389 & 390 Surname could be Lathmaenn. * 398 Guard appears to be misspelled here. ? 414 Surname could be Rorke. ? 432 ? 433 Surname could be Gallatire. ? 453 Surname could be Gleesdon. ? 454 Surname could be Ninlan. * 474 The gender here was written as female, however, appears to be an error by the recorder. ? 480 First name may be Maryliane. ? 486, 487 & 488 Surname may be Staufield. * 490 & 491 Occupation could be cutler. The cross portion of the t goes through 2 letters, however, it is common for a crossed portion to reach over several letters. ? 493 & 494 Surname could be Joney. ? 516 & 517 Surname could be Mullen, or Mallen. ? 534, 535, 536, 537, 538 Surname could be Barner. ? 544, 545, 546 Surname could be Havern. ? 556 Surname could be Deveury. ? 582 Surname could be Romke. ? 599, 600, 601, 602, & 603 Surname could be Nunan. * 601 A notation was been made that this passenger died on the voyage. "Died 18th". ? 604 Surname could be Wallau. ? 614 Surname could be a misspelling of McLaughlin. ? 618 Surname could be Kessin. ? 629 Surname could be Bagle. ? 630 Surname could be Gaghlin. * 638 The gender listed here is female, but appears to be an error by the recorder. ? 640 Surname could be McKuson, or McKuwn. ? 657 First name could be Tabitha. It appears the first letter was duplicated and possibly the t may not be crossed. ? 660 Surname could be McArnly. ? 672 Surname could be Guilean, or Guikan. * 676 The gender listed here is male, but appears to be an error by the recorder as the first name is clearly Martha. ? 683 Surname could be Burne. * 687 Occupation could be cutler. The cross portion of the t goes through 2 letters, however, it is common for a crossed portion to reach over several letters. ? 701 After the first name the letters Do or Du are listed. This appears to indicate duplicate of the surname above. * 702 This infant is entered a little different than the other infants on the list. The abbreviation inft for infant was entered where the last name would have been recorded. Here the number of months is entered into the first portion of the age column.
