I, T.C. Jones, Master of the *Br Sh City of Manchester do solemnly, sincerely, and truly swear that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection District of New York, is a full and perfect List of all the Passengers taken on board the said *Sh at *Lpool from which port the said *Sh has now arrived; and that on said List is truly designated the age, the sex, and the occupation of each of said passengers, the part of the vessel occupied by each during the passage, the country to which each belongs, and also the country of which it is intended by each to become an Inhabitant; and that said List or Manifest truly sets forth the number of said Passengers who have died on said Voyage, and the names and ages of those who died. I have hand written notes from my mother, regarding passenger 35 and 36
listed as James and Mary Gibbon (Gribbin). They traveled from Ireland to
"Fallbrook" and were married in England by Father Brown. Landed in New
York 5/15/67 aboard Steamer City of Manchester. James 21, Mary 22, (maiden
name Mary Hassett> note states, 816 in steerage 17 days crossing. James and
Mary had 13 children; Anne, Kate, Minnie, John, Bridget, Edward, Bess,
William, James, Harry, Frank, Doc, Ethel.
James was from County Antrim, Ireland. Mary was from County Clare, Ireland.
They settled in Bradford Pa. USA. James E. O'Halloran
