Ireland New York* 170 John Glass 21 m Ireland New York* (signed) William Allen Transcriber's notes: The use of an * indicates an omission or error made by the original recorder not the transcriber. The use of a ? indicates a word or letters that could not be read, due to quality of original document. *"male" and "female" were written out by the original recorder, but have been abbreviated by the transcriber. *In the sworn statement, "seventeenth day" is crossed out and "20" is written in above it. *?????Signature of customs agent illegible. *The column listed "baggage" was handwritten in the column that was printed, "Died on the Voyage", and the heading, "Died on the Voyage" was crossed out. *Passengers 10 to 17 were grouped together with brackets, and it appears that, with the exception of "spinster" after Mary Adams, the entries in the columns, "occupation", "the country to which they severally belong", "the country in which they intend to become inhabitants", and "baggage" refer to the entire family. *Passengers 18 and 19 -- there is a defect in the original document which obscures the "age" column. *Passenger 20 may be McKeon. Also there is a defect in the original document which obscures the "sex" column and the "Baggage" column. *Passenger 21 -- there is a ditto in the "Baggage" column referring to the baggage of Passenger 20, which was illegible. *Passengers 25 and 26 -- Original recorder spelled passenger 25 with one "h" and passenger 26 with two "h's". *Passenger 34 and many others -- The original recorder in some cases used ditto marks in the occupation column for all members of a family under the written occupation of the head of family; in other cases he left the line blank. The transcriber has treated these as true ditto marks and has written out the occupation of the head of the family when ditto marks were used, even though it suggests that some children had occupations for which they were not suited. *Passenger 49 -- Third letter of given name not legible; could be "Own". *Passengers 71, 141 -- There is a cross marked after the age column possibly indicating that they died during the voyage. *Passenger 80 -- Name is not legible. *Passenger 101 -- Given name not legible; could be "Michl". *Passenger 114 -- Age is not legible; could be 17. *Passenger 115 -- Name is not legible; could be Nevins, Nimms, or Ninmo. Age is not legible; could be 30. *Passenger 117 -- Age is not legible. *Passenger 118 -- First letter of given name not legible; could be "A" or "E". Age not legible; could be 25 or 45. *Passengers 128 and 129 -- May be the same name, and either "Miller" or "Milliar" is an error on the part of the original recorder. *Passenger 131 -- Joh? ?anandrews, letters not legible; could be "John Sanandrews". *Passenger 152 -- First letter looks like "I" or "J". *Passengers 168, 169, and 170 --bracketted and "Secreted on board" written in "Baggage" column.
