Transcriber's Notes about Manifest: * The captain's signature is on the top right corner of the first page of the manifest. * The word "cabin" is written in the left margin, with a line extending downward from the name of Leonard Perkins, and a horizontal line beneath the name of George Blohm. * No deaths occurred during the voyage, so the column Died on the voyage has been omitted. * The person recording the passengers' names seemingly had a great deal of difficulty spelling French names. There are some truly odd first names on the manifest, names that do not correspond to any known names of French origin. * No punctuation is included when first names are abbreviated; for example, Edw, Fredc, and Wm * Perkins - no occupation listed. * Van Ness - no occupation listed. * Graeber- large chunk of manifest is missing, including most of Mr. Graeber's first and possibly middle name. * Graeber-Graber - name is spelled two different ways within the same family entry. * Erwel - difficult to distinguish between w and m; this name could be Ermel. * Clement - accent aigu over the e in Aime. * Mason, Francis (age 12) - name is given masculine spelling, but sex is listed as female. See notes on passengers, below. * Durols - there is nothing to indicate whether this is a surname or a first name; there are no ditto marks to indicate that the surname is the same as the preceding entry. * Cordice - name is given masculine spelling (Francis) but sex is listed as female. Transcriber's Notes about Passengers: * Vincen - Philibert Vincent, wife Mariane Noel (originally from Ugny-sur-Meuse, Dept. of the Meuse), and children Marie Rose, Jules (not Julia, as reported on manifest), Marie Francoise, and Marguerite Aline) emigrating from Toul, Dept. of Meurthe-and-Moselle, France, to Frenchtown, Crawford County, Pa. (These are the transcriber's direct ancestors.) * Montagne - Jean Baptiste Montagne, wife Catharine Sophie Mangeot (originally from Ugny-sur-Meuse, Dept. of the Meuse), and children Anne Josephine, Melanie (not Vilencia, as reported on the manifest), Francoise (known as Rosina), and Joseph, emigrating from St. Germain-sur-Meuse, Dept. of the Meuse, to Frenchtown, Crawford Co., Pa. * Didelo - Nicolas Didelot, wife Anne LeMoine (from Gombervaux, Dept. of the Meuse), and children Marie Reine, Anne Constance, Paul (not Prole, as reported on manifest), Jean Felix, Valburga Victorine, and Delphine, emigrating from Ugny-sur-Meuse, Dept. of the Meuse, to the French Settlement at New Albany, Floyd Co., Indiana. The ages of the children, and their gender are inaccurately reported on the manifest. * Didelo - Jean Baptiste Didelot (brother of Nicolas Didelot, above), wife Jeanne Marie Montagne (from St. Germain-sur-Meuse, half-sister of Jean Baptiste Montagne, above), and children Marie Jeanne (known as Elizabeth), and Lucie Virginie, emigrating from Ugny-sur-Meuse, Dept. of the Meuse, to Frenchtown, Crawford Co., Pa. * Charles - Nicolas Olry, called Nicolas Chardet, wife Marie Jeanne Deleaux (from Ugny-sur-Meuse, Dept. of the Meuse), and son, emigrating from St. Germain-sur-Meuse, Dept. of the Meuse, to Frenchtown, Crawford Co., Pa. * Mason - Francois Manson (not Mason, as reported on the manifest), wife Anne Marguerite Paris, and children, including Josephine, Francois Victor, and Jean Philippe, emigrating from Ugny-sur-Meuse, Dept. of the Meuse. Family settled in Fairfield Co., Ohio, purchasing 85 acres of land there on 21 May 1834. For further information about this family, contact Robert W. Manson * Richards - Louis Richard (no s on Richard), wife Francoise Adelaide Antoine, and children Marie Madelaine, Elophe, Marie Anne Victoire, Clemence, Louis, Edme Philippe, and Sophie Coralie, from Maxey-sur-Vaise, Dept. of the Meuse, emigrating to Frenchtown, Crawford Co., Pa. Victoire and Clemence are inaccurately reported as males on the manifest. Correspondence 3/17/2004 passengers #25-29 Graber Passenger numbers 25 through 29 are my great-great grandfather, Samuel Graber, his wife Mary, and their three children, (Susanna) Mary, John Jacob (my great grandfather), and Mary (Elizabeth). Passenger numbers 17 though 24 may also be relation, but because "a large chunk of manifest is missing, including most of Mr. Graeber's first and possibly middle name" are missing, I can't be sure. Please contact me if you are able to exchange family history information. Thank you. Les Dean
