Together One Hundred and Twenty Two Passengers and One born on the Passage.
(Signed) C. F. Wiegmeyer
Transcriber's Notes:
Pittsburg spelled as found on list.
Wellingen is supposed to be a German spelling for Wheeling.
#1 last word of baggage begins with C, about 9 letters long.
#4 first name could have been Lud or Levi.
#9 surname spelled with umlaut.
#11-12 surname spelled with umlaut over double a.
#13-17 same as #9.
#19-20 baggage bracketed together.
#23 surname begins with J/S/T.
#35-36 baggage bracketed together.
#37 letter on end of surname does not extend above mid-point. Destination may begin with P.
#38-41 baggage bracketed together.
#43-46 baggage bracketed together.
#52-53 destination may have been incorrectly recorded for one of them.
One of their surnames was spelled without 1st e.
#65 possibly e on end of first name.
#67 occupation probably mislabelled.
#72-75 baggage bracketed together.
#72 town name might have h or li in question.
#80 umlaut in surname.
#85-86 baggage bracketed together.
#86 surname spelled with r or s.
#102-104 their destination may or may not have been recorded incorrectly.
The other Brockmeyers were going to St. Louis.
#113 umlaut over second o.
#114 age possibly 20.
#115-116 by Christian Fricke's name was written "American citizen".
There may be ditto marks for that note for #116.
#117-118 letter in town name looks like u or n; does not extend above mid-point of line.
#121-122 there is possibly an umlaut over the first u in surname.
* Baggage at the end of the list was possibly bracketed incorrectly.
Passengers #113-114 may have had 4 trunks. Passengers #115-116 may have had 1 trunk.
It may be best not to assume anything about whose baggage was bracketed together, on this list.

Thank you for transcribing the ship Elise, Bremen, Germany to
Baltimore, Maryland, 8 September 1845.
Passengers 5 thru 10 are my first Oester ancestors from Germany.
The city of destination says Cincinnati but they actually lived
in Baltimore from 1845 to 1854. Then they moved to Western Maryland,
what is now Garrett County Md.
Thank you to all the people that devote their time and energy to
transcribing these records and making them available on the Internet.
Kind Regards,
John C Oester
