I, Geo. H. Wallace do solemnly, sincerely and truly swear that the following List or Manifest of Passengers, subscribed with my name, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs for the District of New York, contains, to the best of my knowledge and belief, a just and true account of all the Passengers received on board the Ship Courier whereof I am Master, from Newry, Ireland. Transcriber's Notes:
There column headings were hand written and not the standard headings that
were on the preprinted form used by the ships. The column that was for
deaths has been omitted; there were no deaths indicated by the captain.
Passenger # 6 - First name appears as a possible Tasues but the first
letter is smudged and the last letters are not readable.
Passenger # 19 - there are two letters written over each other; they
appear to be an 'S' and a 'T' or 'F'
Passenger # 25 & 26- the ink or page is slightly torn at the portion of
the last name, but judging by the formation of the letters visable
the name appears to be the same as those written above.
Passenger # 27 - the ink or page is slightly torn at the portion of the
last name. The name could be "Cunningham"
Passenger # 28 - the ink or page is slightly torn at the portion of the
last name and is unreadable.
Passenger # 29 - see note for passenger #27
Passenger # 30 - the ink or page is slightly torn at the portion of the
last name. The name could be "O'Brien".
Passenger # 31 & 32- the ink or page is slightly torn at the portion of
the last name. These passengers seem to have the same last name,
but the name is basicly unreadable.
Passenger # 33 - the ink or page is slightly torn at the portion of the
last name and is basicly unreadable.
Passenger # 34 - the ink or page is slightly torn at the portion of the
last name, but does seem similar to passengers 31, 32 & 33. The
name could be "McHenry"
Passenger # 37 - the ink or page is slightly torn at the portion of the
last name and is not fully readable, might be "Quin" or "Quinn"
Passengers # 38 thru 44 - the ink or page is slightly torn at the portion
of the last name but appears to read as transcribed.
Passenger # 48 - this line seems to have been started but there is an ink
smudge where the remaining information should be.
Passengers #49 thru 52 - the ink or page is slightly torn at the portion
of the last name but appears to read as transcribed.
Passenger # 53 - the first initial could be "H"
Passenger # 56 - there is an ink spot over most of the last name but it
appears to be the same as the passenger above it.
Passenger # 57& 58- there is an ink spot over most of the last name making
it mostly unreadable.
Passenger # 62- this last name could be "Matthews" or "Matthew"
Passenger # 68- this first name could be "Richard"
Passenger # 71 - the last name could be "Macken"
Passenger # 86- the paper appears to have worn out from creasing in the
area of the last name and age. The last name could be "Nibloch"
and the age is at least 10, could be older.
Passenger # 87- the first letter of the last name could be "E" or "S".
The last name could be "Eaurt", "Saut", "Eaut" or some other
combination.
Passenger # 99 - the last name is difficult to read; it could be "Feanor"
Passenger # 130- the first letter of the first name is obscured and
appears to be under something or cut off but it could be "M".
The last name has letter formations as #128, the age appears to
be "5" but could be a "3"
Passenger # 132- the last name runs down and is not fully readable,
but the last name might be Harrison
