DISTRICT OF NEW YORK - PORT OF NEW YORK
I, F. Henderson Master of the AM SS "Colon" do solemnly, sincerely and truly swear that the following List or Manifest, subscribed by me, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the Customs of the Collection District of the City of New York, is a full and perfect list of all the passengers taken on board the said vessel at Aspinwall U.S.C. from which port said vessel has now arrived; and that on said list is truly designated the age, sex, calling, country of citizenship, native country, location of compartment or space occupied, intended destination or location, number of pieces of baggage*, and date and cause of death of passengers*, as required by the Passenger Act of 1882; also a true statement, so far as it can be ascertained, with reference to the intention of each alien passenger as to a protracted sojourn in this country. So help me God.
Sworn to this Oct 14 1889, before me Thomas J. Dunn, Deputy Collector.

Cody           17      Male   Seaman                  Germany      Forward Cabin Germany     Visitor 1 AspinwallTranscriber's notes:* The Column "Citizens, Visitors, or Immigrants" was not mentioned in the sworn   statement, however is included in the list.* There were no deaths or births on this voyage therefore that column has been omitted.* Passengers 1-33 are listed as "Cabin" passengers, the columns titled -"Native Country",  "Location of compartment or space occupied", and  Intended destination" are not filled in.* Passengers 34-90 are listed as "Forward Cabin" passengers, the column titled "The country * of which they are citizens" is not filled in.* The column "Number of pieces of baggage" have several with Parenthesis, it is my opinion   that this would indicate the number of pieces of baggage per family.* They are: Passengers 3-6   2          Passengers 7-8   5          Passengers 9-11  6          Passengers 51-52 3          Passengers 53-55 4          Passengers 58-60 4          Passengers 67-68 2          Passengers 73-79 4* Passenger #40 is written as J.O.Shea, name is probably O'Shea* Passenger #46 name could be Nelson or Nilson* Passenger #60 has two dots over the "i"
