DISTRICT OF PHILADELPHIA - PORT OF PHILADELPHIA
I, Thomas J. Bird do solemnly, sincerely, and truly Swear that the Report or Manifest subscribed with my name, and now delivered by me to the Collector of the District of Philadelphia, contains, to the best of my knowledge and belief, a just and true account of all the passengers which were on board the Ship Carroll of Carrolton at the time of her sailing from the Port of Liverpool or which have been taken on board at any time since; that I am at present and have been during the voyage master of the said vessel. And I do likewise Swear that all matters whatsoever in the said Report or Manifest, are to the best of my knowledge and belief, just and true. SO HELP ME GOD. Sworn before me this 1st day of March 1834 (not signed) Collector.

Transcriber's Notes:
* The use of an * indicates an omission or error made by the original recorder.
* The use of a ? indicates a word or letter that could not be read, due to quality
  of original document.
* The first number of the tonage is not clear, but could be a six (6).
* The name of the captain is poorly written, but could be Bird.
* The ship could belongs to "Thos E Mathers Co" or "Thos E Walker & Co", but not written clearly
  enough to decipher.
* In the column for "occupation", there were ditto marks after each passenger who
  had no occupation listed.
* In the column for "to what country belonging" there was no other designation except
  for the four indicated.
* Column "Country of which is their intention to become inhabitants" had "U States"
  written once.
* In family groups, only the first person, usually a male, had the last name written out.
  The rest were indicated by "dt".
* Passenger # 1 The surname is difficult to read; please view the scan of the manifest.
* Passenger # 10 The "t" is a superscript above the Mag.
* Passenger # 23 The name could be Thos W Cann or Thos McCann
* Passenger # 24 The occupation is a 9-11 letter word. The last half could be "pastor".
* Passenger # 24 The surname may be Hurst or possibly Hunt.
* Passenger # 25 The surname may be Hurst or possibly Hunt.
