Transcriber's Notes:
An asterisk indicates an error on the part of the original recorder not the
transcriber or is used to call your attention to additional information in the
Transcriber's Notes below.
The use of a ? indicates a word or letters that could not be read, due to quality
of original document.
This list was numbered by the transcriber, they are not part of the original
document.
The name of this ship is somewhat unclear. There appears to be the dot of an i
over the second to last letter in the name, so it could possibly have been
Andaria Valley or Andaira Valley.
There were no births or deaths indicated for this voyage.
The Captain's name is not listed.
Following the list of passengers is a page entitled Recapitulation which reads as
follows:
Ship Andana from Antwerp
Males Over 21 Years 50
Males Under 21 31 81
Females Over 18 27
Females Under 18 24 51
Infants under 1 year 8 8
There is similar information for the Bark Dyle which is not included here. It
should be noted that this recapitulation does not accurately count the passengers
on this manifest. The manifest indicates 28 females over 18, 25 female under 18,
and 11 infants.
On the manifest, infants are listed on the same line as their mothers. For this
transcription these infants are placed on the line following their mother's, and
named infant or child, depending on what was listed on the manifest. No ages
were given for these infants, but it can be assumed that they are under 2 years
of age.
Passenger Notes:
1 - Surname could be Schmitt or Schmidtz.
2 - Surname could be Schmit. Possibly this is supposed to be the same surname as
the previous passenger.
3 - Surname could be Bukel or Birkel.
20 - Surname could be Arnent or Anunt
24 - This woman has three capital letters, initials, instead of the first name.
First initial is unclear, could be U, V or H.
37 - Surname could be Herrendorf.
59 - There is a smudge on the first number of the age, it is either 32 or 22, most
likely 32.
60 - Middle initial either V or K.
93 - Surname could be Banmann. Age is probably 36, but could be 31 or 34.
96 - Given name could be Antor or Autov or Antov.
135-140 - First letter of surname unclear. Could be Player or Slayer.
