 Transcriber's Notes:

* An asterisk indicates a possible error or a footnoted entry. Question marks
  indicate letters difficult to read.
* The captain's name is first spelled as D. Schumaker in the sworn
  statement, but when he signs it, it is Schumacher.
* The sworn statement was probably written by someone other than the
  captain.
* The scribe for this manifest does not list the first (given) names of
  people that seem to be family groups travelling together.
* He just lists the first person's name or initials--probably the head of
  the household.
* He also lists an occupation regardless of the age, or sex as will be seen
  throughout the list.
* # 9: age is given as 27, but child is entered after that.
* #12 Surname may be Linnemann, last three letters are smudged by an ink
  blot or a tear in the original copy.
* #23 Mar. v.d. = perhaps Margareta or Marie/ v.d. = von der Heyde.
* #25 Surname difficult to decipher: Could be Areslage, Anslage, Auslage.
* #30 age of passenger is written over, could be either 21 or 27.
* #41 surname may be Leutig, Lentig, or Lustig, second & third letters
  difficult to decipher. They are all above the line.
* #42 abbreviated given name is probably for Hieronymus (German for Jerome).
* #43 surname could be Hemmiger
* #47 second initial is smudged, difficult to decipher.
* #49 gender is given as "woman" then crossed out and child written above it.
* #60 surname could be Warneken.
* #61 first letter of surname covered by an ink blot but seems to be a "W."
* #62 surname Muhle has an umlaut over the "u." Given name probably Ludwig.
* #64 surname could be Baukammer.
* #70-71 occupation given as mechanic, yet gender listed as woman--perhaps a
  mistake here.
* #74 surname difficult to decipher--could be Schimmel, or Schemmel.
* #83 first letter of surname not clear--could be "K"  "B" or "R."  Thus
  either Kaller, Baller, or Raller. Given name is probably Heinrich.
* #84 given name is probably Friedrich.
* #112 Initials difficult to decipher due to condition of original.
* #114 age of passenger difficult to read could be 18.
* #121-124 surname has an umlaut over the "a."
* #125 surname difficult to determine because over-writing/correction to it.
* #126 surname could be Ruckmann with an umlaut over the "u."
* #133 surname could be Victor
* #134 Age is 49, 47, or 41.
* #138 the only entry without an occupation listed.
