Correspondence added 7-27-2005:
Thanks to the research of Stephen A. White, who is *the*Acadian genealogist
located at Moncton University in New Brunswick, we know those people had been
exiled from their land in Nova Scotia by the British in 1755 to Philadelphia.
They were Acadians. Researchers lost track of them until finding them on this
list. When the Treaty of Paris was signed in 1763, wherever the Acadians were
in exile, they were free to go wherever they wanted. In this case, these people
went to Louisiana.
The Butler surname was actually BOUDROT. Nancy was really Anne Blanchard
who had married Micehl Boudrot in Philadelphia in 1772. Betsy was their
daughter Elizabeth and so on it goes.
