Cleared: brigs Elizabeth, Peitzsch - Barbados; Harriet, Whitman - Kingston, Jam.; Pallas, Booth - Liverpool E.; Freetown, Archibald - W. Indies; Waterloo, Koch - W. Indies; Sally, Rumford - W. Indies; schrs Mother, Duffus - W. Indies; Sarah-Jane, M'Kennan - W. Indies.

The sch. Four Sons, Capt. Mann for New York ladened with fish was lost on Cape Oget near Arichat 19th inst.

A sch. from Newfoundland, from Prince Edward Island with 60 passengers was lost at Pettit de Grate; and another sch. from the same place with 30 passengers on Antigonish Bar about 3 weeks since - 5 men perished.

The sch. ______, Capt. M'Neil from hence was lost on Canso Point about 10 days since.

The ship Mary-Ann, Hanworth and sch. North Star, Dumierous from Burin N.F. arr. at Gilbralter Oct. 19. The sch. Nancy from hence arr. at Philadelphia in 12 days. The brig Alligator of this port sailed from Antigua Nov. 28 for Norfolk. A sch. from Newfld with 120 passengers for Halifax has been lately wrecked on Green Island.

The British brigs Francis and Lucy from Norfolk, and Marda from New York have been seized at Antigua for the violation of some law.

The Princess Elizabeth packet from hence arr. at Falmouth 21st Oct.
The lady Wellington packet sailed from New York for England the 7th inst.
The brigs Eagle and Margaret from hence arrived at New York Dec. 14.

St. John N.B. Dec. 20 - The Comet, Bell from Cork via Halifax is reported to be in the offing.

Quebec. Dec. 2 - the brig Favourite, Young from hence for Madeira was wrecked on [ _____ ] Island Nov. 21, crew saved, vessel supposed to be totally lost. Ship Agnes, Lines from London is on shore at Mal Bay with the loss of cable and anchor.
Lloyds List. Oct. 24 - The Hercules, Langdon of and from Liverpool for Miramichie foundered at sea Sept. 16 150 miles from Cape Clear. Crew Saved by Two Brothers of Rochester and landed at Malaga. Sept. 30 - The Rover, Frank from St. Andrews for Stockton sprung a leak and was abandoned 300 miles westward of Ireland. The master and crew took to the boat and after being three days at sea landed in [ _____ ] Harbour near Westport. Oct. 17 - The Princess Elizabeth packet from Halifax 21st ult. arrived at Falmouth 20th inst.

The brig Mary, Strachn arrived at Charleston 19th ult. from Jamaica. A schooner from Jamaica for Halifax was spoken 29th Nov. The sch. William, Rundle was to sail soon after the Eagle for this place. The sch, Delight from hence arrived at Philadelphia 21st ult.

A brig from Canso for Eastport was cast away near Cape Negro 21st ult.
The brig Maria of N.B. was at Martinique 19th ult.
The ship Victory and brig William Wilberforce passed thro' the Gut of Canso about the 23d ult.; and the brig Pictou for Jamaica.

Friday Jan. 16 arr.: brig Alligator, Coulson - Norfolk 11 days cargo flour &c. to Mr. Mathew Richardson; brig Britannia, Vandine - Anitgua 33 days to Mr. John Starr.

The brigs Margaret and Regent from hence have arrived at Jamaica.

The sch. Industry, Dunn of Prince Edward Island from Jamaica bound to this place, out 40 days, went ashore about ten miles to the eastward of Beaver Harbour in a gale of wind on Sunday the 4th inst. - Cargo saved; the vessel it is feared will be lost.

Cleared: sch. Sarah Jane, M'Kinna - B.W. Indies; brig Armenia, Barber - B.W. Indies; Peggy, Stairs - Demerary; Alert, Grant - B.W. Indies; sch. Critic, Jeffery - Boston; Harriet, Bremner - B.W. Indies; Amelia, King - Liverpool, Eng. [cargos were given but not transcribed.]

The brig Messenger had sailed from Boston for St. Johns Newfld with a cargo of bread, flour, meal, rice &c. amounting to upwards of £1500 to be distributed amongst the poor of that place.

Thursday Jan. 22 arr.: brig Dolphin, Ferguson - Granada 40 and St. Cruz 26 days; sch. Hero, Allan - Liverpool, N.S. cargo rum, molasses and mackerel to Messrs Fillis & Perkins.

Cleared: brig Laurel, Rudolf - B.W. Indies; Lord Exmouth, Falt - B.W. Indies; Nancy, Hempton - B.W. Indies; sch. Mother, Duffus - B.W. Indies.

Liverpool N.S. - Jan. 8 sailed sch. Hero, Baker - Grenada; brigs Hope, Harvey; Queen, Bruce and Madeira, Roberts - West Indies.

The sch. Lark, M'Curdy of this place arrived at Boston from Demerary 6th inst in 33 days passage - lost one man overboard.

The brig Dauphne from hence had arrived at Demerary with the loss of her foremast and bowsprit. The sch. ______, M'Donald from hence had also arrived.

The brig Mary, M'Gray of New Brunswick from Cape Breton for Moose Island with 19 passengers and a cargo of plaster, was driven on shore and wrecked Dec. 13 near Barrington - ten of the passengers unfortunately perished - The passengers sailed from Ireland July 12 in the brig Nancy, Mitchell for Quebec, but after having got within 10 leagues of [ ___], the Mary bore away and they were landed at Reshebucto. A seaman's chest was lately picked up at the Seal Islands in which was a book with the name John A. Carron written in it.

The sch. Critic from hence for Boston put into Liverpool on Saturday last. The brig Lavinia, Dick - 44 days from Jamaica to Moose Island put into Lunenburg on Sunday in want of provisions and having her pumps choked with sand - Spoke off the Seal Islands a sch. from Halifax for Boston - had put away for Yarmouth having some of their men frost-bitten; sch. _____, Parks from Canso for this port put into Sambro on Tuesday last - Jebacco boat Ringdove, Steward arrived at Liverpool from Boston last week.

Kingston Jam. Dec. 7: Arrived Prince of Waterloo, M'Lenan from Halifax and Amity, Paker[?] from New Brunswick. The Waterloo touched at Barbados 25th ult. and then ran down. Idas from Halifax and Victory from St. John had arrived at St. Lucia. The Lord Hill from N. Brunswick has arrived at Montego Bay. La Pique frigate, Capt. M'Kellar arrived at Port Royal yesterday from the Havannas; the Spaniards have not the restored the specie so unhandsomely taken from the wreck of the Tay, sloop of war.

St. John N.B. Jan. 17 - Arrived since our last, sloop William, M'Caul - Boston - flour &c. to John Kinnear.
Reported: brig Maria, Cameron - Martinique - sugar &c. to J. M'Wilmot.

Arrived since our last - Vixen, gun brig, Lt. Smith with the English January mail - 28 days from Bermuda; brig Pictou - Jamaica 40 days; sch. Good Intent - Demerara 24 days; Belvidera - Barbados 30 days; Mary - Philadelphia; Springboard - New York 10 days; Four Sons - Boston 4 [days]; sloop Intermediate - Trinidad 37 days.

The sch. Good Intent from Demerara spoke the sloop Alert on Sunday last from Halifax bound to Antigua.

Arrivals &c. - brig Mary Gilliat from hence arrived at Portsmouth Jan. 11; ship Victory, Douglas from Pictou at Liverpool Jan. 19 and was ready for Halifax, as was brig William Wilberforce; Pallas, Booth at Liverpool Feb.3; schr Robert was up at Jamaica for Philadelphia; Mary cleared at Phil. for this port March 12; Salisbury, Rear Admiral Douglas sailed from Havana with dollars for England Feb. 24; Sybille frigate was at Havana Feb. 28 to sail for Charleston with specie; At Portsmouth Jan. 9 - Medusa, Hutchinson from Halifax; - At Pool Jan. 10 William & Amelia - do.

Vessels arr. at Liverpool Feb. 5 - Dykes, Graves for Halifax early in March; brig Adventure - ditto; first for Mirimachie ships Thompson, Thompson & Lydia, Hardy; 19 vessels for [the] Brazils and River Plate.

Liverpool Feb. 5 - British American timber has improved in value owing to the expectation that a duty will be imposed on it.

The brig Irene, Tidmarsh from Genoa was at Marseilles Jan. 5; ship Venus and brig Patty of Liverpool N.S. were at St. Lucia to sail for Boston. Schrs Roseway for Halifax; Critic for Newfld; and Star for Barrington were at Boston March 29.

The Caledonia from Prince Edward Island was driven on shore near Old Head, Kinsale Jan. 12 - crew and cargo saved.

Belvidera, Capt. DeBlois left at Barbados March 2; Hibernia, Freeman of Liverpool N.S. [&] The Union Last, Mare had sailed two days previous for Dominica and Halifax. - Countess Dalhousie had touched at Barbados and sailed from thence for a market. Boarded lat. 32 long. 70 by a privateer brig of 16 guns from Buenos Ayres - treated politely and allowed to proceed without molestation.

The Concord, Carver from hence arrived at Boston March 20.

The Aurora from hence has arrived at Limerick.

The Protector from New Brunswick was driven on shore in Greenock Harbour on the 15th Jan. in a gale. The Perserverance from Pictou arrived at Aberdeen Jan. 11 after having been on shore near that port and 5 seaman and two passengers drowned. The following is a list of the unfortunate sufferers: James Grant, mate; Robert Duncan; Alex. Wilkie; John Robertson, and William Symers, seamen; Mr. William Compton and Mrs. Compton, passengers from the Gut of Canso.

Baltimore August 19 - Arr. brig Cora from Hondoras - passed 11th near Cape Florida 7 or 8 sail of Spanish men of war, some 2 deckers with 13 sail of transports standing to the southward.
Philadelphia - Arr. Aug. 30 ship Nestor, Thom - Belfast 50 passengers; cleared 21st brig Shannon, Rundell for Jamaica.

New York - Arr. Aug. 27 schrs Consolation 15 days from Halifax, Juliana, Robson 17 days from St. Andrews with plaster; 30th - Grace packet 6 days from Halifax; 31st - brig Mariner 63 days from Newcastle. The sch. Felix was boarded near Bermuda by a privateer brig and a schooner under Carthagenian colours and robbed of oxen, sheep and other articles to the amount of about 1000 dollars.

Aug. 25 ship Paragon - Greenock; schrs Nancy, Holmes from Cumberland with grindstones; Wealthy Ann, Baker - Bay Chaleurs 470 bis. salmon; sloop Tangent, Walker from St. Peters 15 days; Aug. 30 - Pilgrim, King from Trinidad 28 days; sch. Four Sons, Kelly 5 days New Providence; James, Crook - from N.B. 15 days; Venus from St. Andrews with plaster; cleared Aug. 27 James & Sophia - Demerara; 29th - Perserverance, Koch - N.B.; Captain Hezenwenkle of ship Vaterlandersleic arrived in schooner Betsey from Banks of N.F. where he was left purchasing fish for his crew and passengers by a thick fog coming on- he has gone to Philadelphia to join his ship.

Lloyd's Lists mention the loss of several English vessels in the ice on the Newfoundland coast - Crew saved.

The Curlew from Waterford and Nancy from Dartmouth both for St. John's among them. The John from Civita Vechia for Newfoundland is totally lost onn the latter coast - crew saved.

Tuesday September 30 arr.: the brig Jessie from Dumfries for St. Andrews anchored at the beach this evening with part of the crew and passengers of the ship Lantaro of Charleston S.C. which unfortunately foundered at sea on the 9th ult. The following persons were saved in the long boat:
Cabin passengers - Messrs Ainsley Hall, Wm. Hall, Wm. Weston, John C. Ross.
Steerage passengers - Messrs Duncan Darrock, John M'Eachern, Thomas M'Gregor, Peter Gaines.
[Crew saved] - Benjamin Matthews, Master. Hugh Livingston, John Smith 1st and 2d mates. John Evaas, carpenter. Wm. Mnetan, steward. John Pollanick, John Picknel, James Clarke, James [_____], John Riggings, seamen. John Bernard, Hector M'Pherson, apprentices. - Total 20.
Passengers lost in the ship - L. M'Neal, wife and two children; Archibald M'Donald, wife and five children; Mr. Black and wife; Duncan M'Millen, his mother and sister; James Duncan; Mr. Murray, and one man name unknown; Ellison Castor, cook; W. Bradbury, seaman - Total 27 persons.
The captain and six of the seamen were put on board a schooner for Philadelphia.

Thursday October 2 arr.: brig Hope, Little - Liverpool N.S.; sch. William - Boston; Critic - Boston; Elizabeth - Boston. The sch. Four Sons was to sail for this place on the 1st inst.; brig Laurel, Rudolf - St. Lucia cargo rum &c. to the master 22 days - left sch. belonging to Mr. Grassie - spoke 1st inst. ship Mary Ford from Liverpool for N.B. 8 weeks out - left at Dominica

Aug. 7th a brig belonging to Mr. M'Sweeny.; Sailed - the Swiftsure packet for New York.
The brig Genete Mackintosh and sch. St. Martins sailed for Halifax one day before the Heart of Oak. The brig Margaret was to sail a day after. The brigs Armenia and Fanny from hence has arrived at Jamaica. Reported - brig Freetown, Archibald - Antigua.
Cleared - brigs Dolphin, LeMaistte - Fortune Bay, N.F.; Temple, Walker - Jamaica; schrs Perserverance, Rowland - Norfolk; Little Arishat, Babin - Miramichie; True Friend, Hawkins - Quebec; Lark, Kendrick - Moose Island; Mary, Butler - Bay Chaleurs.
British vessels arrived.

At Philadelphia - Sept. 17 sch. Hester, Lawrence - Jamaica; 18th - sch. Mary Jane, Boyle - N.B.; 23d - brig General Brock, Dwyer - Jamaica.

At New York - Sept. 18 brig Catharine, Collier - St. Kitts; sch. Clarendon - Bermuda; Genete IIId - Digby; brig Babona - Amsterdam 221 passengers; 23d - sch. Robert, Anderson - Halifax; sloop Duke of Wellington, Corry - N.B.; brig Betsey, Jones - St. Andrews (with plaster); British Tar - Demerary - spoken Aug. 8 [ _____ ] frigate 50 guns, Adml Malcolm from St. Helena July 4 for England - left Bonaparte well caged.

At Boston - Sept. 19 brig Apollo, [ _____ ] - Tobago; 22d - sch. Wellington, Durkee - Trinidad; 23d - brig Express, Copley - St. Johns N.F.; Alligator, Coulson - Halifax; 24th - Hero, Baker - Yarmouth; 26th - Four Sons, Kelly - Halifax. At Portsmouth Sept. 20 - Welcome Return - Halifax. Quantities of Plaster were daily arriving in New York &c. from Passamaquoddy and other places on the coast.
