    Passenger lists constitute the official record of immigration in this period. They contain information such as name, age, country of origin, occupation and intended destination of passengers.
    The records are arranged by port and date of arrival, with the exception of the years 1923 to 1924, and some of those for 1919 to 1922, when an individual Form 30A was used.

    There is a free database of the National Archives of Canada Miscellaneous Immigration Index at:
    There are two databases you can search online -- the inGeneas Passenger List database which "contains about 6,000 passenger list records for immigrants arriving at Canadian ports between 1751 to 1873", and the inGeneas Immigration database, which "contains almost 20,000 various immigration records - other than passenger lists - from between 1748 and 1881." The databases are on the same page

    Between 1923 and 1930 almost 6,000 Mennonite households (20,201 individuals) pulled up their roots from the USSR and managed to emigrate to Canada.
